1. Shallow near-surface lapse rates and their connection to glacier meteorology on Storglaciären and Rabots glaciär, Northern Sweden
Master-uppsats, Stockholms universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografiSammanfattning : Glacier melt is strongly impacted by climate and meteorology. Temperature lapse rates are used to model glacier melt, and the accuracy of the spatial distribution of modelled melt can be impacted by the lapse rate used in modelling. Additionally, the observed spatial distribution of melt is highly temporally variable. LÄS MER
2. The hydrodynamic impacts of Estuarine Oyster reefs, and the application of drone technology to this study
Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskapSammanfattning : The impacts of climate change are being seen within the estuarine environment through erosion and shoreline retreat, associated with sea-level rise and changes in storm activity. Restoration oyster reefs have been identified as a working-with-nature strategy to protect and restore these shoreline environments, stabilising sediment, and reducing erosion. LÄS MER
3. Modelling the Resilience of Offshore Renewable Energy System Using Non-constant Failure Rates
Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för elektroteknikSammanfattning : Offshore renewable energy systems, such as Wave Energy Converters or an Offshore Wind Turbine, must be designed to withstand extremes of the weather environment. For this, it is crucial both to have a good understanding of the wave and wind climate at the intended offshore site, and of the system reaction and possible failures to different weather scenarios. 4. Troubling Waters Ahead – an Evaluation of Coastal Flooding in Stockholm
Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för geovetenskaperSammanfattning : The increasing rate of global sea mean level rise, one of many effects of climate change, will most likelyproduce heightened risk of coastal flooding. Cities located along coastlines have to adapt to thesecircumstances that otherwise will increase the magnitude and frequency of coastal flooding. LÄS MER
5. Coastal erosion in the region of Thu Bon River mouth, Vietnam
Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Avdelningen för Teknisk vattenresursläraSammanfattning : Coastal erosion has increased worldwide during the last decades, mostly due to human activities. Vietnam is not spared, where many places within the country suffer from beach erosion. This report focuses on the region around Thu Bon river mouth in the central part of Vietnam. LÄS MER
