Using the OLS regression analysis I ask whether fiscal decentralization fosters more gender-balanced politics at the municipal level and whether the quality of public service serves as a mechanism through which the relationship works. This thesis examines the hydropower projects in the aforementioned region, from the Feminist Political Ecology perspective, with an intersectional look, and thus explores how the hydropower projects have resulted in reproducing social inequalities by impairing women’s identities. This question has been examined with the help of critical discourse analysis (CDA) and feminist CDA in order to look at the problem from a more critical feminist approach.
