  1. 1. Utvärdering av biotopvårdande åtgärder i Grimåsbäcken. En analys av fysikaliska egenskaper och sammansättning av makroevertebrater.

    Kandidat-uppsats, Göteborgs universitet / Instiutionen för biologi och miljövetenskap

    Författare :Björn Andermo; [2024-01-22]
    Nyckelord :Channelized streams; retention; biotope preservation; macroinvertebrates; bottom substrate; woody debris.;

    Sammanfattning : Many streams have been exposed to extensive anthropogenic impact for the benefit of forestry and agriculture. The effects has mainly been channelization characterized by lowered and straightened channels. This homogeneous morphology leads to decreased ability to retain water as well as lost connection to the floodplain. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Riparian plant biodiversity and community composition of ditches and straightened streams : identifying key environmental drivers in a boreal forest setting

    Master-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Forest Ecology and Management

    Författare :Rasmus Staaf; [2024]
    Nyckelord :artificial waterways; riparian zone; novel ecosystems; ; forestry; ditch network maintenance; species richness; hill-diversity; drainage ditches; coarse woody debris; ditch cleaning; ecology;

    Sammanfattning : Modified ecosystems are typically seen as degraded and having no ecological value. In many cases, the modification of the ecosystem was done more than 100 years ago and may have had time to recover and become a refugia for species that were once more common in the landscape. 3. 3. Mängden död ved i värdekärnor i Söderåsens nationalpark

    Master-uppsats, SLU/Southern Swedish Forest Research Centre

    Författare :Gustav Thurell; [2024]
    Nyckelord :volym död ved; stående död ved; liggande död ved; bokskog; nedbrytningsgrad; värdekärna;

    Sammanfattning : There is a lack of knowledge about the development of the dead wood in former production beech (Fagus sylvatica) forests that have been protected. The present study has been carried out in Söderåsen National Park to compare the distribution of dead wood in relatively unaffected beech forests that have been protected for a long time (A-value cores) and older, previously managed beech forest that has only been protected for 20-30 years (B-value cores). 4. 4. Thermochemical energy utilization of biomass in Rwanda - a screening of potential feedstocks

    Master-uppsats, Umeå universitet/Institutionen för tillämpad fysik och elektronik

    Författare :Felix Johansson Carne; [2022]
    Nyckelord :bioenergy; agricultural; residues; waste; agroforestry; africa; energiteknik; bioenergi; jordbruksrester; afrika; termokemisk; bränslen;

    Sammanfattning : Traditional bioenergy practices in sub-Saharan Africa involve collecting natural forest wood and burning it in simple fireplaces for household cooking. This is actually still very common, especially in rural areas. The situation is unfortunately connected to health issues, inequality and natural forest degradation and deforestation. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Forest structure of Dalby Söderskog National Park : patterns of carbon storage in living and dead trees

    Master-uppsats, SLU/Southern Swedish Forest Research Centre

    Författare :Kumetra Achuthan; [2021]
    Nyckelord :ash dieback disease; deadwood; Dutch elm disease; living tree volume; coarse woody debris; carbon stock and storage; pest invasions; temperate mixed broadleaved forest;

    Sammanfattning : Carbon sequestration and storage is an ecosystem service supplied by forests, and is of increasing importance in the context of mitigation of global climate change. Forest pest invasions, driven primarily by globalizations, represent a risk to the efficiency of carbon sequestration as they may greatly reduce the amount of the living biomass in forests. LÄS MER
