  1. 1. Automatic Detection of Structural Deformations in Batteries from Imaging data using Machine Learning : Exploring the potential of different approaches for efficient structural deformation detection

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Författare :Maira Khan; [2023]
    Nyckelord :CT scan; electrode peaks; jelly roll; keypoints; structural deformation; traditional computer vision; deep neural network; CT-skanning; elektrodtoppar; gelérulle; nyckelpunkter; strukturell deformation; Traditionellt datorseende; djupt neuralt nätverk;

    Sammanfattning : The increasing occurrence of structural deformations in the electrodes of the jelly roll has raised quality concerns during battery manufacturing, emphasizing the need to detect them automatically with the advanced techniques. This thesis aims to explore and provide two models based on traditional computer vision (CV) and deep neural network (DNN) techniques using computed tomography (CT) scan images of jelly rolls to ensure that the product is of high quality. 2. 2. Focal Spot Optimization Using Spatial Light Modulation and a Phase Retrieval Algorithm

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Atomfysik; Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen

    Författare :Robert Petersen; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Spatial Light Modulation; Phase Retrieval Algorithm; Focal Spot Optimization; Adaptive Optics; Wavefront Sensing; Lasers; Physics and Astronomy; Technology and Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : Aberrations to the wavefront of a laser beam reduce the quality of the focal spot and are generally undesired. This project is aimed at determining the aberrations of laser beams by using a phase retrieval algorithm and to show that it is possible to correct the aberrations with a spatial light modulator to optimize the focal spot. 3. 3. Uncertainties in the use of synthetic CT (sCT) for daily online adaptive radiotherapy for lung cancer

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Sjukhusfysikerutbildningen

    Författare :Johansson Vivika; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Medicine and Health Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : Background and purpose: Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) based online adaptive radiotherapy (oART) has been clinically implemented for several anatomical sites worldwide. However, random and abrupt anatomical changes with large density alterations can occur in lung patients, leading to uncertainties with synthetic computed tomography (sCT) and dose calculation. 4. 4. Selective Kernel Network based Crowding Counting and Crowd Density Estimation

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Författare :Jinchen Liu; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Crowding Counting; Convolution Neural Network; Selective kernel; Trängselräkning; konvolutionsneuralnätverk; Selektiv kärna;

    Sammanfattning : Managing crowd density has become an immense challenge for public authorities due to population growth and evolving human dynamics. Crowd counting estimates the number of individuals in a given area or scene, making it a practical technique applicable in real-world scenarios such as surveillance and traffic control. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Trade-offs in CRISPR Immunity against Mobile Genetic Elements

    Uppsats för yrkesexamina på avancerad nivå, Uppsala universitet/Molekylär systembiologi

    Författare :Johanna Cederblad; [2022]
    Nyckelord :CRISPR; microfluidics; fluorescent microscopy; RP4 conjugative plasmid;

    Sammanfattning : The prokaryotic adaptive immune system CRISPR (Clustered Regularly Interspaced Short Palindromic Repeats) is a defense mechanism that helps to protect the prokaryotic cell from invading mobile genetic elements. This project was performed at Uppsala University and served to answer whether the expression of Cascade, which is part of the CRISPR defense system, will have a negative effect on the cell that expresses it and to also determine whether the CRISPR defense system is effective enough to stop the spread of a conjugative plasmid.
