  1. 1. Hur upprätthålls livsmedelsproduktion under samhällskriser? : en studie om kvantifiering av resiliensaspekter inom REKO-ringsproduktion

    Kandidat-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of People and Society

    Författare :Idun Hjalmarsson; [2023]
    Nyckelord :resiliens; absorptionskapacitet; adaptiv kapacitet; transformativ kapacitet; livsmedelsberedskap; försörjningsberedskap; livsmedelskedja; sårbarhet;

    Sammanfattning : Frågan om Sveriges självförsörjningsgrad har aktualiserats i samband med en ökad orosnivå i samhället, till följd av krig, pandemier, extremväder och efterföljande distributionskriser i samhället. Dagens globala och komplexa försörjningskedjor innebär att Sverige kan drabbas kraftigt av störningar som sker långt ifrån landets gränser. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Assessing the Eco-efficiency of Swedish Crop Farms and the Role of Subsidies : a Directional Distance Function Approach

    Master-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Economics

    Författare :Therese Ratilla; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Swedish crop farmers; CAP subsidies; FADN; stochastic frontier analysis; multi-output; one-step approach;

    Sammanfattning : The agriculture sector’s contribution to global greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and its increasing vulnerability to the effects of climate change warrants assessments considering not only on-farm productivity but also the industry’s environmental sustainability. Utilizing the concept of eco-efficiency, this study analyzes the environmental performance of Swedish crop farms by incorporating farm-level GHG emissions as an undesirable output in the production function. 3. 3. The assessment of ecosystem services provided by forest edge effects on fields in a fragmented Swedish agricultural landscape : a methodological framework

    Master-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Crop Production Ecology

    Författare :Juliette Nguyen; [2022]
    Nyckelord :carbon sequestration; cropping systems; DSSAT; ecosystem services; edge effect; food production; landscape diversification; landscape fragmentation; soil heterogeneity; soil organic carbon; spatial variability; total nitrogen; yield;

    Sammanfattning : Agricultural expansion, prompted by increasing global food demand, has fragmented, simplified, and homogenized the landscape in the last decades. The resilience and sustainability of croplands are at stake, resulting in a hight vulnerability to climate change, and having major impacts on environmental protection, biodiversity preservation and food security. 4. 4. Climate Change Adaptation Measures and Their Determinants : a case of farm-level in Rachaya Bekaa, Lebanon

    Master-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Economics

    Författare :Hala Saab; [2022]
    Nyckelord :climate change; adaptation measures; Lebanon; multivariate probit model; farmer; agriculture;

    Sammanfattning : Climate change is increasing the detrimental effects on agricultural productivity. Effective adaptation measures are crucial to cope with climate change impacts to reduce farmers' vulnerability and build resilience. LÄS MER

  5. 5. The natural pest control potential of different landscapes : mapping the ecosystem service in three regions of Sweden

    Master-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Biosystems and Technology (from 130101)

    Författare :Charlotte Peitz; [2021]
    Nyckelord :natural pest control; natural enemies; landscapes; agricultural diversification; pesticide reduction; mapping; ecosystem service; ecological intensification; agroecology;

    Sammanfattning : Natural pest control describes the process of natural enemies suppressing pests and thus reducing crop damage and stabilizing yields. How well these beneficial arthropod predators and parasitoids can thrive in a landscape is influenced by the land-use types in the vicinity, such as forest patches, pastures, or agricultural fields, and their ability to provide resources.
