    Sammanfattning : This study has investigated upper secondary school teachers' perception of the purpose of news in social studies teaching both from the point of view of function and objectives and from teachers' subject conception. Four social science teachers have been interviewed, and the teachers' statements about their goals, content and methods have been analyzed based on scientific and politically normative goals to identify and categorize their subject conception.
