  1. 16. The effects of eutrophication and browning on prey availability and performance of the three-spined stickleback (Gasterosteus aculeatus)

    Master-uppsats, SLU/Dept. Of Aquatic Resources

    Författare :Olivia Bell; [2021]
    Nyckelord :Baltic Sea; benthic habitats; body growth; climate change; coastal areas; diet; fish; stickleback; zooplankton;

    Sammanfattning : Shallow coastal areas often have high productivity and diversity, in part due to the high availability of light and nutrients. At the same time, they are exposed to multiple environmental pressures, such as browning and eutrophication. LÄS MER

  2. 17. Phosphorus accumulation in constructed wetlands : A study of 10 wetlands constructed on agricultural clay soils in Södermanland

    Uppsats för yrkesexamina på avancerad nivå, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för geovetenskaper

    Författare :Gabriella Corbee; [2021]
    Nyckelord :Phosphorus retention; sedimentation; hydraulic load; Fosforavskiljning; sedimentation; hydraulisk belastning;

    Sammanfattning : Eutrophication is a major problem causing algal blooms and impaired water quality, especially regarding coastal areas and seas. It is a result of an excessive supply of nutrients such as phosphorus (P), where agriculture accounts for the largest share of the anthropogenic nutrient load. LÄS MER

  3. 18. Beach-cast fertilizers for cultivation of carrots and radishes on Swedish Gotland : The effect on crop size and nutrient composition

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Hållbar utveckling, miljövetenskap och teknik

    Författare :Sofie Ögren; [2020]
    Nyckelord :Eutrophication; marine biofertilizer; beach-cast management; nutrient analysis; NMR;

    Sammanfattning : In the eutrophicated Baltic, algal blooms with toxin-producing algae and plant overgrowth is a large threat to the marine environment, humans and animals. The use of external nutrient inputs into agriculture, such as mineral fertilizers (NPK), is reaching the Baltic through runoff which causes a constant, linear nutrient flow from land to the sea, which is one of the main contributors to accelerated eutrophication. 4. 19. Effects of microbial community coalescence in lake water at ice break-off

    Uppsats för yrkesexamina på avancerad nivå,

    Författare :Christoffer Melhus; [2019]
    Nyckelord :Freshwater lakes; ice break-off; microbial community coalescence; dissolved organic matter; microbial enzymatic activity; primary production; photo degradation.;

    Sammanfattning : The period of ice break-off in spring is a key event for many biogeochemical processes in lakes globallly. The biogeochemical processes occurring at ice break-off have the potential of influencing characteristics of lakes throughout spring and summer, including algal blooms and greenhouse gas emission. 5. 20. Enkätundersökning om markägares intresse av skogsbruk på öar i Uppland

    Kandidat-uppsats, SLU/School for Forest Management

    Författare :Oscar Holmgren; [2019]
    Nyckelord :skärgård; skogsåtgärder; naturvård;

    Sammanfattning : This degree project comprises a study of the conditions for forest owners on islands in the Grönö archipelago in northern Uppland in Sweden. The land on the islands is owned partly by private landowners, the company BillerudKorsnäs and the Grönö village community. This adds up to a total of 15 landowners. LÄS MER
