  1. 1. SOIL GROSS NITROGEN MINERALISATION AND FOREST GROWTH IN FOUR HEMIBOREAL FOREST STANDS IN SOUTHWEST SWEDEN

    Master-uppsats, Göteborgs universitet / Institutionen för biologi och miljövetenskap

    Författare :Linnéa Eriksson; [2023-04-20]
    Nyckelord :soil C:N; forest production; 15N isotope dilution; gross N mineralisation; ammonium; soil carbon; soil nitrogen; root exudates; stoichiometric decomposition; boreal forests; priming; microbial C limitation;

    Sammanfattning : Boreal and temperate forests together make up the largest terrestrial net C sink in the world. They take up carbon dioxide (CO2) from the atmosphere and store it in plant biomass and soil as they grow, making them crucial in mitigating global climate change. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Sustainable use of calcium nitrate fertilizer under variable precipitation, soil properties and crop management

    Master-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Soil and Environment

    Författare :Liliana Marcela Daza Gomez; [2023]
    Nyckelord :nitrogen.; calcium nitrate; ammonium-based fertilizers; urea; nitrate leaching; nitrous oxide emissions; crop yield;

    Sammanfattning : Application of nitrogen fertilizers in agriculture contributes substantially to global greenhouse gas emissions and nitrogen leaching. Accordingly, there is a need to increase knowledge about sustainable farming practices to reduce nitrogen losses to the environment without curtailing crop harvest. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Effect of Mycorrhizal Inoculation on Growth and Nutrient Uptake by Leek (Allium porrum) fertilized with Inorganic N Combined with Saturated Polonite

    Master-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Biosystems and Technology (from 130101)

    Författare :Emmanuel Owusu Boateng; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Phosphorus; Arbuscular Mycorrhiza fungi; Saturated polonite; Nitrogen; Allium porrum; Sustainability; circular economy;

    Sammanfattning : The continuous rise in global population continues to increase the demand for food. Meeting this rise in demand requires an increase in agricultural input, such as applying fertilizers, including phosphorus (P). LÄS MER

  4. 4. Utvärdering av driftdata i fullskala för minimering av lustgasutsläpp på Henriksdals Reningsverk

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Hållbar utveckling, miljövetenskap och teknik

    Författare :Erika Forsén; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Nitrous oxide; nitrification; denitrification; greenhouse gas; biological treatment; ammonium feedback control; oxygen set-point; nitrate recirculation; nitrite; nitrate; ammonium; wastewater treatment plant; nitrous oxygen production; Lustgas; nitrifikation; växthusgas; biologisk rening; ammoniumåterkoppling; syrebörvärden; nitratrecirkulation; nitrit; nitrat; ammonium; avloppsreningsverk; lustgasproduktion; denitrifikation;

    Sammanfattning : Lustgas är en växthusgas, ca 300 gånger mer potent än koldioxid och som har potential att bryta ned ozonlagret med sin livslängd på 120 år i atmosfären. Lustgasutsläppen beräknas ha ökat med mellan 20–30% sedan förindustriell tid vilket tros bero på en ökad användning av konstgödsel i jordbrukssektorn men en del av all lustgas som bildas kommer från avloppsreningsverk vilka står för ca 1,6% av lustgasavgången till atmosfären där Henriksdals reningsverk bidrar med lustgasproduktion. 5. 5. Ammonium and nitrate sorption by biochar

    Master-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Soil and Environment

    Författare :Yasser Alrhban; [2023]
    Nyckelord :biochar nitrogen; retention; dialysis; absorption; adsorption; ammonium; nitrate;

    Sammanfattning : Biochar has recently drawn attention due to its ability to increase soil fertility, sequester carbon and its expected effect on reducing the leaching of elements from the soil, especially nitrogen. The possibility of using biochar as a soil amendment to reduce the amount of nitrogen leaching, and then reducing the quantities of nitrogen fertilizers used in agriculture to avoid the bad environmental effects has become a matter of great interest.
