  1. 1. Solar photovoltaic potential to complement hydropower in Ecuador : a GIS-based framework of analysis

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskap

    Författare :Jose Jara Alvear; [2018]
    Nyckelord :photovoltaic; hydropower; complementarity; GIS; Ecuador; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : In Ecuador, more than 85% of electricity production relies on hydropower and consequently the supply of electricity relies on water availability. During the dry season (October-March) hydropower capacity could diminish up to one-third of its installed capacity or more under a severe drought causing a substantial augmentation of thermoelectric power output to offset the lack of hydropower to cover electricity demand, and consequently increasing the overall operational cost and emission of CO2 of the power system. 2. 2. Investigating the Practice of Disaster Risk Reduction Mainstreaming into Development : the Experience of a Development Organization

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Avdelningen för Riskhantering och Samhällssäkerhet

    Författare :Tetty Marlina Rajagukguk; [2018]
    Nyckelord :DRR; Mainstreaming; development organization; Integration; Social Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : The understanding of development and disaster nexus has enforced the international community to think and act differently. Disaster risk reduction mainstreaming has been embraced as one of our best approach for sustainable development and has been consistently featured in international discussions. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Scheduling Strategies for the Calvin IoT Environment

    M1-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Institutionen för reglerteknik

    Författare :Sam Jabbar; [2018]
    Nyckelord :Calvin; Internet of Things; Dataflow programming; distributed application; Actor model; scheduling; Round Robin; Non-preemptive; Technology and Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : The connection of devices to the internet is referred to as Internet of Things (IoT). By using IoT distributed network of devices will be able to communicate with each other. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Equilibrium Strategies for Time-Inconsistent Stochastic Optimal Control of Asset Allocation

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Optimeringslära och systemteori

    Författare :Johan Dimitry El Baghdady; [2017]
    Nyckelord :Stochastic optimal control; dynamic programming; asset allocation; non-cooperative games; subgame perfect Nash equilibrium; time-inconsistency; dynamic portfolio optimization; mean-variance; state dependent risk aversion; extended Hamilton-Jacobi-Bellman; execution algorithms.; Stokastisk optimal styrning; dynamisk programmering; tillgångsallokering; icke-kooperativa spel; Nashjämvikt; tidsinkonsistens; dynamisk portföljoptimering; avvägning mellan förväntad avkastning och varians; tillståndsberoende riskhantering; utökad Hamilton-Jacobi-;

    Sammanfattning : We have examinined the problem of constructing efficient strategies for continuous-time dynamic asset allocation. In order to obtain efficient investment strategies; a stochastic optimal control approach was applied to find optimal transaction control. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Online Workforce Scheduling and Routing : A case study at an on-site service provider

    Uppsats för yrkesexamina på avancerad nivå, Luleå tekniska universitet/Institutionen för ekonomi, teknik och samhälle; Luleå tekniska universitet/Institutionen för ekonomi, teknik och samhälle

    Författare :Rasmus Fransson; Michael Janfjord; [2017]
    Nyckelord :workforce scheduling; online scheduling; routing problems; mobile workforce; WSRP; mathematical programming; integer programming; heuristics;

    Sammanfattning : The consumer market of today is characterized by emphasis on superior customer satisfaction and personalization of services. This entails higher customer expectations on organizations, which also includes the workforce scheduling processes in which the consumers expect more decision-power to dictate what they want, when and where they want services to be delivered.
