1. Body patterning and cognition in cephalopods - a literature review
Master-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Animal Environment and HealthSammanfattning : Cephalopods are a valuable model for studying the evolution of cognition due to their distinctive brain structure, organisation, and connectivity patterns compared to vertebrates. The development of large brains and behavioural complexities are believed to be triggered by evolutionary pressures stemming from factors like heightened predation, more demanding foraging conditions, and intense mating competition. 2. The Rotational Centre of the Large Magellanic Cloud
Kandidat-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Astronomi - Genomgår omorganisationSammanfattning : The Large and Small Magellanic Clouds (LMC & SMC) are the two largest galaxies orbiting the Milky Way (MW). The interactions between them have affected the evolution of both galaxies. The interactions have affected the galaxies differently depending on how strong they have been. LÄS MER
3. Foreland evolution of Blåisen, Norway, over the course of an ablation season
Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Geologiska institutionenSammanfattning : This study presents a detailed investigation into the evolution of sedimentary landforms over an ablation season at Blåisen, an outlet of the Hardangerjøkulen Icecap, Norway. The two visits to Blåisen, one each side of the ablation season, allowed the preservation and evolution of the landforms to be studied. LÄS MER
4. Behaviour of Boron Isotopes During Magmatic Degassing and Application to B-Rich Volcanic Glassfrom Lesbos, Greece
Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för geovetenskaperSammanfattning : Boron is a fluid mobile trace element and is routinely employed as a tracer of slab-derived fluids in subduction zones since the heavy isotope (11B) preferentially partitions into the fluid phase during slab dehydration. However, it has been shown experimentally that boron isotopes (expressed as δ11B) can fractionate by up to several permil (‰) during subsequent magmatic evolution and degassing at high temperature, calling into doubt the fidelity of boron isotopes in volcanic glass as accurate tracers of slab degassing. 5. Pressure-Temperature-time Constraints on the Deep Subduction of the Seve Nappe Complex in Jämtland and southern Västerbotten, Scandinavian Caledonides
Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för geovetenskaperSammanfattning : The Scandinavian Caledonides are defined by long transported thrust sheets emplaced in a nappe stratigraphic succession onto the Paleozoic Baltica platform, as a result of the collision between the paleo-continents Baltica and Laurentia. This Palaeozoic collisional orogen is nowadays exposed at mid-crustal levels, thus provides an excellent ground for in situ studies of mountain building processes. LÄS MER
