  1. 1. Sustainable food packaging based on polyhydroxyalkanoate

    Master-uppsats, Högskolan i Borås/Akademin för textil, teknik och ekonomi

    Författare :Safana Al-Ashor; [2024]
    Nyckelord :Biopolymers; Sustainable food packaging; Circular economy; Biobased and biodegradable materials; Food packaging; Processing technologies; Food quality; Shelf-life;

    Sammanfattning : The Norwegian Food Research Institute (Nofima) and the University of Borås worked together to develop this project. The commonly used packaging materials pose a serious threat to the environment, as they are produced from nonrenewable crude oil and cannot decompose naturally. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Synthesis and characterization of lactic acid-based elastomers

    Master-uppsats, Högskolan i Borås/Akademin för textil, teknik och ekonomi

    Författare :Afsaneh Makhdoumi; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Lactic acid; Elastomer; Bio-based elastomer; Renewable resource;

    Sammanfattning : Synthesized polymer from bio-based and renewable resources reported as an attractive substitution for fossil-fuel based polymers. Therefore, this work has focused on using sustainable material for production of elastomers to reduce the environmental impact of fossil-based elastomers and overcome the shortage of non-renewable fuels. 3. 3. Exploring Contextual Barriers to Implementing Mission-Oriented Innovation Towards Achieving Bioeconomic Shifts : A Case Study of Uppsala Region

    Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för samhällsbyggnad och industriell teknik

    Författare :Julian Strömqvist; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Bioeconomy; Bioeconomic shifts; Mission-oriented innovation; Innovation policy; Grand challenges; explicit knowledge; tacit knowledge; codification;

    Sammanfattning : Tackling grand challenges such as anthropogenic climate change, urgently requires an increase in bio-based resource utilization in regard to offsetting fossil dependencies within industrial sectors, also known as bioeconomic shifts. Bioeconomic shifts can be achieved by implementing Mission-oriented innovation (MOI), which concerns facilitating and directing resources towards achieving predetermined missions. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Bio-based resins for digital light processing : Mechanical and degradable properties

    Kandidat-uppsats, KTH/Materialvetenskap

    Författare :Moa Eklund; Amanda Olofsson Ribrant; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Digital Light Processing 3D Printing DLP ; Additive manufacturing; Bio-based; Polymer; Thermosets; Covalent Adaptable Networks CANs ; Recycling; Characterization.; Digital Light Processing 3D Printing DLP ; Additiv tillverkning; Bio-baserad; Polymer; Härdplast; Kovalenta Anpassningsbara Nätverk CANs ; Återvinning; Karaktärisering.;

    Sammanfattning : Thermosets are appropriate materials for various applications due to benefits such as heat resistance and good mechanical properties. The disadvantages of traditional thermosets from a sustainable manufacturing perspective are that they are usually derived from fossil resources, and also have permanent cross-linked networks that are difficult to break, making them non-recyclable.
