  1. 1. Analysing the effects of 24/7 Carbon-free Energy procurement strategies on the electricity system : Case Study of commercial and industrial sector in the Netherlands

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för industriell teknik och management (ITM)

    Författare :NINA JABŁOŃSKA; [2023]
    Nyckelord :24 7 Carbon-free Energy; carbon accounting; corporate electricity procurement; Energy Attribute Certificates; hourly matching; the Netherlands.; 24 7 kolfri energi; koldioxidredovisning; företagens elupphandling; energiattributcertifikat; timmatchning; Nederländerna.;

    Sammanfattning : Considering the growing importance of the electricity sector in the worldwide decarbonisation efforts, as well as large volumes of energy consumed by the commercial and industrial (C&I) sector, corporate power procurement is found to be a significant contributor to building a net zero economy. Within this topic, hourly matching of carbon-free electricity supply with demand, or 24/7 Carbon-free Energy (24/7 CFE), is identified as a next-generation power procurement framework, with growing interest from a wide range of stakeholders in the energy sector and benefits backed by robust research evidence. 2. 2. Operating procedures and evaluation of a carbon capture pilot plant

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Kemiteknik (CI)

    Författare :Isac Logeke; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Carbon Capture and Storage; CCS; AMP DMSO; amine absorption; pilot plant; operating procedures; chemical engineering; Chemistry;

    Sammanfattning : The rise in global emissions of carbon dioxide and the need for new technologies to combat climate change has prompted extensive research into carbon capture methods. This master thesis focuses on a novel carbon capture absorption technology, developed at Lund University, that utilizes the amine 2-amino-2-methyl-1-propanol (AMP) in the organic solvent dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) to capture CO2. 3. 3. Towards Affordable Sodium-Ion Batteries : Mechanochemical Synthesis and Electrochemical Assessment of Iron-Based Fluorophosphate Cathode Material

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Materialvetenskap

    Författare :Ratna Juwita; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Sodium-ion batteries; electrical energy storage EES ; iron oxide; positive electrode; material characterization; electrochemical; discharge capacity.; Natriumjonbatterier; elektrisk energilagring EES ; järnoxid; positiv elektrod; materialkarakterisering; elektrokemisk; urladdningskapacitet;

    Sammanfattning : An urgent transformation from fossil fuels to cleaner energy sources to combat climate change has led to the utilization of renewable energies like solar, wind, and tidal power. However, the intermittency of these sources hinders their wider implementation. To address this, large-scale electrical energy storage (EES) systems are needed. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Development and evaluation of solar heating solutions for Villages in the highlands of Peru

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för industriell teknik och management (ITM)

    Författare :Tom Rupert Göransson; [2023]
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : In the Peruvian highlands, hundreds of thousands of people live in dwellings that are completely unheated. In this climate, nighttime indoor temperatures during the winter could be as low as 0°C. Indoor cold can cause thousands of respiratory diseases and increase winter mortality. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Does Rust SPARK joy? : Recommendations for safe cross-language bindings between Rust and SPARK

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Författare :Aïssata Maiga; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Rust; Ada; SPARK; Foreign Function Interface FFI ; memory safety; type safety; ownership; Rust; Ada; SPARK; Gränssnitt för främmande funktioner FFI ; minnessäkerhet; typsäkerhet; ägarskap;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis aims to provide recommendations for interfacing two memory-safe programming languages, Rust and SPARK. The comparison of Rust and C/C++, as well as SPARK and C/C++, has been thoroughly researched. However, this level of investigation hasn’t been as extensive between memory-safe languages. LÄS MER
