  1. 11. A European Material Kuznets Curve

    Kandidat-uppsats, Stockholms universitet/Nationalekonomiska institutionen

    Författare :Pyry Järvinen; Emil Fernström; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Material Kuznets Curve; Environmental Kuznets Curve; Economic Growth; Economics Development; Material Footprint; Emissions; Sustainable Growth; Decoupling; Europe;

    Sammanfattning : This bachelor thesis investigates the correlation between 28 European countries’material footprints (MF), as proxied by their Raw Material Consumption (RMC)per capita, and the environmental impact indicated by their carbon dioxide (CO2)emissions per capita, respectively, with their economic development, measured bytheir purchase power parity adjusted gross domestic product (GDP) per capita,during the period of 2008 to 2019. Specifically, through the theoretical frameworkof the Environmental Kuznets Curve (EKC) and by utilizing Fixed EffectsOrdinary Least Squares regression models as well as Pooled Mean Groupestimation, the thesis asks whether or not evidence can be found for the possibleexistence of an EKC, an inverted-U shaped relationship between environmentaldegradation and economic development, within this European context. 2. 12. Carbon Capture from Biomass Boiler Flue Gas Emissions using Microalgae : A Case Study

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för industriell teknik och management (ITM)

    Författare :Graham Kirn; [2023]
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Capture and storage of carbon dioxide (CO2) is expected to play an important role in climate change mitigation efforts intended to limit global warming to 1.5 °C. Bioenergy with carbon capture and storage (BECCS), in which carbon is captured during energy generation from sustainably sourced biomass fuels, is of particular interest in Sweden. LÄS MER

  3. 13. Sustainability demands on internal and external providers of IT

    Kandidat-uppsats, Stockholms universitet/Institutionen för data- och systemvetenskap

    Författare :Emma Lenman; Ida Appelgren; [2023]
    Nyckelord :sustainable IT; sustainability; IT; green IT; data governance; energy efficient; greenhouse gas emissions;

    Sammanfattning : The use of IT in companies is constantly expanding, and therefore, so is the energy consumption and carbon footprint from IT. If companies do not take steps towards more sustainable IT usage, the footprint will continue to expand, toxic metals will be used in hardware and the usage of world resources will not become more circular. 4. 14. Mycelium + Wood = <3 : How can I reduce the CO2 impact of a chair?

    Kandidat-uppsats, Linköpings universitet/Malmstens Linköpings universitet

    Författare :Ragnar Brodow; [2023]
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : The primary objective of this study is to examine the viability of developing a chair with a significantly reduced carbon footprint. The research explores two distinct approaches for achieving minimal material usage in the construction process: one involving a minimal amount of wood, and the other utilizing solely wooden waste. 5. 15. Sova med gott samvete : En studie om hur koldioxidutsläpp inom hotellkan förändras och dess potentiella effekter förverksamheten, samhället och miljön

    Kandidat-uppsats, Mittuniversitetet/Institutionen för naturvetenskap, design och hållbar utveckling (2023-)

    Författare :Sofia Huang; [2023]
    Nyckelord :hospitality industry; sustainable development; CO2; scenario; climate impact; besöksnäring; hållbar utveckling; CO2; scenario; klimatpåverkan;

    Sammanfattning : En sektor som bidrar till de globala klimatförändringarna är turismen.Tidigare forskning pekar på att hotellbranschen skapar negativa effekteroch är ansvarig för 21% av turismens hela ekologiska fotavtryck. Därav har denna studie fokuserat på hotellens klimat- och miljöpåverkan. LÄS MER
