1. Transparent paper: Evaluation of chemical modification routes to achieve self-fibrillating fibres
2. Investigation of graphene and nanocellulose hybrid films as a barrier material in packages
Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Centrum för analys och syntesSammanfattning : In this report, hybrid films of carboxymethylated cellulose nanofibrils (CNF) and graphene nanosheets (GNs) have been prepared to evaluate if the GNs can enhance the barrier properties of the CNF films. CNF already possess great barrier properties at low relative humidity (RH) but it is drastically lowered when the RH reaches above 50% due to its strong hydrophilicity of CNF. LÄS MER
3. Dewatering Cellulose Nanofibril Suspensions through Centrifugation
Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för kemivetenskap (CHE)Sammanfattning : Cellulose nanofibrils (CNF) is a renewable material with unique strength properties. A difficulty in CNF production is that CNF suspensions contain large amounts of water. If CNF suspension volume can be decreased by dewatering facilitated by centrifugation, then transportation costs and storage costs can be reduced. LÄS MER
4. Metalization of Micro Fibrillated Cellulose (MFC) films
Master-uppsats, Karlstads universitet/Institutionen för ingenjörsvetenskap och fysikSammanfattning : In this thesis, two MFC based films Carboxymethylated-Microfibrillated Cellulose (MFC) and Enzymatic-MFC were characterized and metalized in order to improve the barrier properties at high relative humidity. Several methods were used for the characterization process, which were Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM), Contact Angle (CA), Energy Dispersive Spectra (EDS), Light Microscopy (LM), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), and Oxygen Transmission Rate (OTR). 5. The effect of charged groups on the beatability of pulp fibres
Uppsats för yrkesexamina på grundnivå, KTH/Skolan för kemivetenskap (CHE)Sammanfattning : The purpose of this bachelor thesis was to investigate how charged groups within the pulp fibre affect the beatability and the strength of the papers. To obtain different levels of charges on the pulp it was carboxymethylated. The different pulp samples were beaten to different degrees to investigate how charges interact with the beating. LÄS MER
