1. Feasibility Study of X-ray Free Electron Lasers in Fourth Generation Storage Rings
Kandidat-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Synkrotronljusfysik; Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen; Lunds universitet/MAX IV-laboratorietSammanfattning : This thesis studies the feasibility of a cavity based X-ray free electron laser in a fourth generation storage ring. The cavity design allows for modulation of the electron beam over several passes through the undulator. Simulations based on the PETRA IV facility are done to create the photon flux spectrum of a light pulse produced by an undulator. LÄS MER
2. Salivary flow rate and xerostomia in patients with head and neck cancer after radiation therapy
Master-uppsats, Umeå universitet/TandläkarutbildningSammanfattning : Background: Radiation therapy used for head and neck cancer patients cause many side effects in the oral cavity and above all affects the salivary glands. Complaint of dry mouth (xerostomia) and hyposalivation are common as well as swallowing difficulty (dysphagia) even after the cancer is remitted. LÄS MER
3. The Influence of Cavity Widths and Lateral Ventilation Conditions on the Fire Behaviour within a Non-Combustible Ventilated Façade System
Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Avdelningen för BrandteknikSammanfattning : Present uncertainties in key ventilation parameters, characterising the fire performance of facades, has necessitated clarification in the foundational understanding of the Fire Science Body of Knowledge. A test program conducted in collaboration between Lunds Universitet and the Kingspan Group, studied the influence of cavity widths and lateral ventilation conditions on the fire behaviour within Intermediate-scale ventilated façades following the ISO 13785-1 standards. 4. A Monte Carlo simulation study of collimators for a high-spatial-resolution Gamma Emission Tomography instrument
Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Tillämpad kärnfysikSammanfattning : The present master thesis concerns a study of collimator designs for a high-spatial-resolution Gamma Emission Tomography (GET) instrument for used fuels utilizing Monte Carlo simulation codes. Designing a collimator for this purpose is a multilateral process that requires many interconnected and conflicting objectives to be taken into consideration. LÄS MER
5. Characterizing particulate carbon using dielectric property measurements
Uppsats för yrkesexamina på avancerad nivå, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för geovetenskaperSammanfattning : Interest in effects of carbonaceous particles in the atmosphere has recently taken an upswing due to knowledge of how these particles affect our environment. Carbonaceous aerosols are characterized by their dark color, giving them the ability to absorb both incoming and outgoing radiation of all wavelengths in the atmosphere. LÄS MER
