   Sammanfattning : The purpose of this essay was to investigate how child-welfare officer categorize children who have witnessed domestic violence, and their parents, what the consequences of this categorization are on the participation of the children as well as how power is distributed between children, parents and child-welfare officers for the duration of the social service processing. We performed seven semi-structured interviews with child-welfare officers who work specifically with the target group of this research (children who have experienced violence) either during initial assessment, evaluation and/or treatment.
