  1. 1. EcoBot : study design and development of a persuasive FSM-free Chatbot for energy saving

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Författare :Francesco Milano; [2023]
    Nyckelord :chatbot; context management; persuasive strategies; domestic energy saving; smart appliances; sustainability.; chatbot; kontexthantering; övertygande strategier; hushållsenergibesparing; smarta apparater; hållbarhet;

    Sammanfattning : This study presents the development and evaluation of a conversational agent, EcoBot, designed to inform users about their energy habits and persuade them to save more energy when at home, to help fight climate change and energy waste. To reach this goal, three persuasion strategies were first identified: Feedback, to give users personalized suggestions based on their habits, Goal Setting, to set and track consumption goals for the user’s domestic appliances, and Social Comparison, to compare the user’s consumption with that of others. 2. 2. Between a Rune Stone and a Hard Place: Deconstructing Mass Media Influence on Knowledge Production in Viking Age Archaeogenetic Publications

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Arkeologi

    Författare :Kyle Koch; [2023]
    Nyckelord :History and Archaeology;

    Sammanfattning : The archaeological traditions of the Viking Age have a complex history. Some of it has been nationalist in orientation, at times constructing proud historical narratives reflecting ownership in and continuity of the past. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Applying LPJ-GUESS on the Arctic: A model evaluation and benchmarking study

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskap

    Författare :Margot Jeanne Knapen; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Physical Geography and Ecosystem Analysis; LPJ-GUESS; Arctic; FLUXNET; Gross Primary Productivity; Ecosystem Respiration; Permafrost; Active Layer Thickness; Snow Depth; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : Warming in the Arctic occurs at a much higher rate than the global average, which has a considerable impact on the Arctic terrestrial carbon cycle. Permafrost thawing can release substantial amounts of carbon, whilst tundra shrubification and tree-line advance, on the other hand, may compensate for this. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Climate effects of managed boreal forests : combining effects from carbon balance and albedo

    Master-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Soil and Environment

    Författare :Anna Valeria Requardt; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Remotely Sensed Albedo; Age-Albedo pattern; C-flux Radiative Forcing; Boreal Forests Climate Effect;

    Sammanfattning : Boreal forests are considered as a global carbon (C) sink and are utilized for climate-change mitigation. Judging the climate impact of a forest solely on its C balance might leave an incomplete picture, since forest-climate feedbacks are also caused by various other biophysical and biogeochemical processes, e.g., albedo effects. 5. 5. Evaluating a new hydraulic implementation in LPJ-GUESS for three sites in north Europe

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskap

    Författare :Carl Holmquist; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Physical Geography and Ecosystem analysis; LPJ-GUESS; drought; sensitivity analysis; evapotranspiration; gross primary production; hydraulic parameters; boreal forest.; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : Drought is projected to increase in frequency and intensity and impacts trees with increased water stress and increased mortality rate. Water stresses can cause hydraulic failure-related mortality or carbon starvation due to tree species having different strategies to deal with water stresses. LÄS MER
