  1. 1. A Simulation-Based Decision Support Tool for Circularity : Remanufacturing of an Electric Machine Case Study

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Produktionsutveckling

    Författare :Mayari Pérez Tay; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Simulation; remanufacturing; circular business; electric machine;

    Sammanfattning : Over the last years, environmental concerns have grown regarding the pressure manufacturing activities exerts on natural resources. Many materials have been classified by the EU as scarce, rare earth elements found in magnets are amongst critical materials with high supply risk. LÄS MER

  2. 2. A Circular Solution for Plastic Waste Within Healthcare : A fully implementable solution for creating a circular end-of-life option for plastic waste using chemical recycling

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Produktionsutveckling

    Författare :Bharghav Ganesh; Iliass Temsamani; [2023]
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : With a growing awareness of the environmental impacts associated with the disposal of healthcare plastic consumables through conventional end-of-life methods, such as landfilling and incineration, there is an increasing need to adopt more sustainable practices. This thesis explores the development of an alternative, circular economy-based solution to manage plastic waste generated by the healthcare sector, focusing on the identification of circular end-of-life strategies. Sammanfattning : As the awareness of the impact of human activities on the environment, economy, and society has been brought to spotlight during the last decades, sustainable development has gained ever-increasing attention around the world. While industrial revolutions are critical for the efficiency of meeting customer needs, it is also crucial to address and reverse the depletion of Earth’s resources. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Product-as-a-Service: An accelerator to create an environmentally sustainable closed loop supply chain : (Multiple interview study from a retailer’s perspective)

    Master-uppsats, Linnéuniversitetet/Institutionen för ekonomistyrning och logistik (ELO)

    Författare :Saskia Tamerus; Lisanne Koers; Solveigh Steffens; [2022]
    Nyckelord :Product-as-a-Service; PaaS; Product-Service-System; PSS; Servitization; B2C Retailer; Circular Economy; Circular Business Model; Environmental Sustainability; Challenges; Mitigations; Closed Loop Supply Chain;

    Sammanfattning : Abstract  Purpose:  The purpose of the research was to define Product-Service-System (PSS) and Product-as-a- Service (PaaS), identify the challenges and match mitigations with them when closing the supply chain from a B2C retailer’s perspective. The following three research questions were defined:  RQ1: How are Product-Service-System and Product-as-a-Service defined and related to the environmental sustainability context?  RQ2: What are the challenges that B2C-retailers with a Product-as-a-Service model encounter in regard to closing their supply chain loop?  RQ3: How can the closed loop supply chain related challenges that B2C-retailers encounter be mitigated to unfold the environmentally sustainable potential of PaaS business models?  Methodology: A systematic literature review was used for defining PaaS and PSS with an environmentally sustainable focus.
