  1. 1. Examining the Relationships between GII, HDI, Gini, and GDP per capita -A Comparative Analysis of Undeveloped and Developed Countries (1990-2021)

    Kandidat-uppsats, Göteborgs universitet/Institutionen för nationalekonomi med statistik

    Författare :David Mandegar; Max Olsson; [2023-07-10]
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis examines and evaluates key measurements, namely the Gender Inequality Index (GII), Human Development Index (HDI), Gini coefficient (a measure of income and wealth inequality), and GDP per capita. Further, this study investigates the strengths and weaknesses of each measurement, providing a comprehensive background on previous research and their interrelationships. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Success at the box office in the age of streaming services : An examination of how streaming services have impacted the dynamics of successful movies in the cinema

    Master-uppsats, Jönköping University/IHH, Nationalekonomi

    Författare :Jesper Johansson; [2020]
    Nyckelord :films; box office; streaming services; the long tail; uncertainty;

    Sammanfattning : Netflix and other streaming services have grown immensely since they started offering online streaming. In this paper I present a correlation matrix using ticket sales at the domestic box office and the number of Netflix subscribers. LÄS MER

  3. 3. CONSTRUCTION EQUIPMENT FUEL CONSUMPTION DURING IDLING : Characterization using multivariate data analysis at Volvo CE

    Uppsats för yrkesexamina på avancerad nivå, Mälardalens högskola/Akademin för ekonomi, samhälle och teknik

    Författare :Mujtaba Hassani; [2020]
    Nyckelord :Idling condition; environmental effect; diesel fuel; machine learning; multivariate data analysis; partial least square regression; support vector machine regression; principal component analysis; principal component regression; correlation coefficient matrix; artificial neural network; exhaust emission reduction techniques; global warming; emission regulation; CO2 estimation techniques; Gaussian process regression;

    Sammanfattning : Human activities have increased the concentration of CO2 into the atmosphere, thus it has caused global warming. Construction equipment are semi-stationary machines and spend at least 30% of its life time during idling. The majority of the construction equipment is diesel powered and emits toxic emission into the environment. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Using public transport tap-in data to improve a travel demand model: A Norrköping case study

    Master-uppsats, Linköpings universitet/Kommunikations- och transportsystem; Linköpings universitet/Tekniska fakulteten

    Författare :Lars Drageryd; [2018]
    Nyckelord :four step model; public transport data; tap-in data; smartcard data; travel demand modelling;

    Sammanfattning : With reliable models to forecast travel demand, traffic planners and decision-makers can be assisted in choosing the best solutions to obtain traffic performance goals. Practitioners have traditionally been relying on infrequent, costly and respondent pressurized travel surveys as their main source of data for these models. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Return Models and Covariance Matrices

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen; Lunds universitet/Matematisk fysik

    Författare :Xiaolei Xie; [2014]
    Nyckelord :returns; stochastic volatility; GARCH; covariance matrix; random matrix; spectral distribution; Physics and Astronomy;

    Sammanfattning : Return models and covariance matrices of return series have been studied. In particular, GARCH and SV models are compared with respect to their forecasting accuracy when applied to intraday return series. SV models are found to be considerably more accurate and more consistent in accuracy in forecasting. LÄS MER
