  1. 1. Evaluating DInSAR for measuring seasonal elevation dynamics at the Vissátvuopmi palsa mire complex in Northern Sweden

    Master-uppsats, Göteborgs universitet/Institutionen för geovetenskaper

    Författare :André Farjami; [2022-09-09]
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : During recent years the palsa mires of Fennoscandia have reported to be undergoing extensive lateral degradation, and in a warming environment the palsa mires of Sweden among others are threatened to thaw completely by the end of this century. Since subarctic peatlands account for 30% of the global soil organic carbon storage, small degradation changes in these areas globally, can potentially change the greenhouse gas emissions on a worldwide scale. 2. 2. Estimating active layer thickness at the high Arctic study site Zackenberg from remotely sensed ground subsidence

    Kandidat-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskap

    Författare :Lotte Wendt; [2021]
    Nyckelord :active layer thickness; DInSAR; subsidence; permafrost; Zackenberg; CALM; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : The active layer thickness (ALT) is an indicator of permafrost thaw, which potentially leads to the release of large amounts of greenhouse gases under global warming, and thus could further amplify climate change. The thaw depth of the active layer also governs seasonal surface deformation, caused by the volume change between ice to water, which poses risks for slope stability and infrastructure foundations. 3. 3. Possibilities to make measurements of ground subsidence more effective, using dInSAR, GNSS and levelling

    Kandidat-uppsats, KTH/Geodesi och satellitpositionering

    Författare :Evelina Östblom; [2017]
    Nyckelord :dInSAR; GNSS; levelling; subsidence;

    Sammanfattning : Ground subsidence is today very common. It can occur due to man-made or natural causes. Today, it is most common that subsidence occurs in urban areas, and there the causes are almost exclusively man-made, including groundwater extraction, construction under or above ground. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Differential Interferometry and Multiple-Aperture Interferometry for Retrieving Three-Dimensional Measurements of Glacial Surface Velocity

    Master-uppsats, Stockholms universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi

    Författare :Luke Webber; [2016]
    Nyckelord :Differential Interferometry; Multiple-Aperture Interferometry; 3D; Glacial Surface Velocity;

    Sammanfattning : The measurement and monitoring of glacial surface velocity is important for many aspects of glaciology, such as determining the mass balance, for characterising the stability or instability of glaciers, or the identification of potential hazards from surging glaciers or Jökulhlaups, a type of glacial outburst flood. Predominately measurements of glacial surface velocity have been produced using either differential interferometry (DInSAR) applied to radar data, or offset-tracking applied to either optical or radar data. 5. 5. Monitoring of Santorini (Greece) volcano during post-unrest period (2014-2016) with Interferometric Time series of Sentinel-1A

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskap

    Författare :Christos Bountzouklis; [2016]
    Nyckelord :Santorini Volcanic Complex; earth observation; volcanic hazard; SAR Interferometry; Sentinel-1A; physical geography and ecosystem science; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : Ground deformation monitoring is one of the main geoindicators that should be considered to assess volcanic hazard. Satellite earth observation data and Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) interferometry have been used continuously since 1992 to measure or study the temporal evolution of surface deformation in volcanic areas in conjunction with ground-based geodetic measurements.
