  1. 1. Dissolution rates of mineral nitrogen fertilisers : effects of moisture and precipitation

    Uppsats för yrkesexamina på avancerad nivå, SLU/Dept. of Soil and Environment

    Författare :Christian Sigtryggsson; [2018]
    Nyckelord :hygroscopicity; deliquescence; fertilisers; calcium nitrate; ammonium nitrate; dissolution rates; rain simulation; enthalpy; precision fertilisation;

    Sammanfattning : Hygroscopicity and deliquescence refer to the ability of a solid to absorb air moisture in which it dissolves and have long been recognised as properties having negative impacts on the product quality of explosives, pharmaceuticals, and fertilisers. Contrastingly, this thesis reconsiders and reappraises the hygroscopic effects of common mineral fertilisers, proposing hygroscopicity to beneficially enable quick dissolution under humid air conditions in absence of precipitation. 2. 2. Martian Caves as Special Region Candidates : A simulation in ANSYS Fluent on how caves on Mars are, and what their conditions would be for being considered as special regions.

    Master-uppsats, Luleå tekniska universitet/Rymdteknik

    Författare :Patrik Olsson; [2018]
    Nyckelord :mars; lava tubes; caves; special regions; relative humidity; temperature; perchloratic salts;

    Sammanfattning : One of the most interesting questions about Mars is if life ever existed on it. One of the main requirements for life to exist as we know it is the presence of liquid water. It has been suggested by Martín-Torres et al. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Field-Site Prototype for HABIT (FSP-HABIT) : Characterizing Martian Salts Prior to the ExoMars 2020 Mission

    Master-uppsats, Luleå tekniska universitet/Rymdteknik

    Författare :Johannes Güttler; [2016]
    Nyckelord :Mars; Brine; Perchlorate; Chloride; HABIT; ExoMars; ESA; IKI; Prototype; Conductivity; BOTTLE ENVPACK; Salt;

    Sammanfattning : One of the major remaining question about Mars is its habitability - if the requirements necessary to allow for life are presently fulfilled. One of the most relevant ingredients for life, as we know it, is water. Indirect evidence of transient liquid water on Mars has been retrieved from both rover [Martín-Torres et al. LÄS MER
