1. Mussel farming along the south-Swedish coasts - a possible solution to eutrophication?
Kandidat-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskapSammanfattning : The concept of mussel farming as a mitigator to nutrient pollution is steadily spreading. The southernmost part of Sweden borders the Baltic Sea where the water quality differs between the costs, however, all are affected by eutrophication. LÄS MER
2. Improving proton therapy planning with photon-counting spectral computed tomography
Master-uppsats, KTH/FysikSammanfattning : Proton radiation therapy is an alternative to conventional photon radiation therapy, which accounts for the majority of radiation treatments today. The rationale for using protons in radiation therapy lies in their dose deposition properties; photons deposit a radiation dose inversely proportional to the energy, and therefore tissue depth, while protons exhibit a sharp Bragg peak when traversing matter. 3. Gravity water waves over constant vorticity flows: from laminar flows to touching waves
Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Matematik (naturvetenskapliga fakulteten); Lunds universitet/MatematikcentrumSammanfattning : In a recent paper, Hur and Wheeler proved the existence of periodic steady water waves over an infinitely deep, two-dimensional and constant vorticity flow and subject to gravity whose profile overhangs, among which, waves whose surface touches at a point, enclosing a bubble of air. We take this further, proving the existence of a continuous curve of water waves from a laminar flow up to a touching wave for fixed non-zero gravity. LÄS MER
5. Wave Damping by Vegetation at Bunkeflo Salt Meadows - Applying an empirical model based on plant biomass
Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Avdelningen för Teknisk vattenresursläraSammanfattning : Future sea level rise due to climate change increases the risk of coastal flooding and thus necessitates the building of dikes and other protective structures. Coastal vegetation can reduce the impact of waves on such structures by dissipating wave energy and hence reduce incoming wave heights. LÄS MER
