  1. 1. Atomic Ambiguity: Geopolitical Rivalries and the Dynamics of Nuclear Decision-Making

    Kandidat-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för freds- och konfliktforskning

    Författare :Gabriel Ringvall; [2024]
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis explores the intricate relationship between geopolitical rivalries and the transition from nuclear latency, emphasising the role of these rivalries in shaping nuclear decision-making. Utilising a comparative study of the India-Pakistan and Argentina-Brazil dyads, the research investigates how variations in geopolitical rivalry intensity influence states' resolve to either pursue nuclear proliferation or reversal. 2. 2. N-body simulations of exoplanets and their moons

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Astrofysik; Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen

    Författare :Lydia Schollmeier; [2024]
    Nyckelord :Physics and Astronomy;

    Sammanfattning : The planet-planet interactions in a many-planet system cannot be analytically calculated. Instead, they have to be investigated by using an N-body simulation. I discuss three questions about the N-body interactions in planetary systems: The first two are on the system 55 Cnc, a system with five known planets around a K-type star. LÄS MER

  3. 3. International disputes and nation branding. Investigating Individual Attitudes, Attitude Changes, and Its Implications in the wake of the NATO dispute between Turkey and Sweden

    Kandidat-uppsats, Göteborgs universitet/Företagsekonomiska institutionen

    Författare :Oskar Eriksson; [2023-11-07]
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis investigates the interplay between attitudes and nation branding in the context of the NATO dispute between Sweden and Turkey, along with its subsequent events. The study employs a mixed-method approach, combining a pre-study and content analysis, with a quantitative survey and qualitative interviews that illustrates the nuances of the attitudes measured. 4. 4. Shape depiction using Local Light Alignment : Evaluating the shape enhancement capabilities of the Local Light Alignment technique at multiple scales

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Författare :Edvard Ahlsén; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Shape depiction; Non-photorealistic rendering; Shading; Multiple scales; Formskildring; ickerealistisk rendering; skuggning; skalrymdsmetoder;

    Sammanfattning : Local Light Alignment is a new shading based technique in the field of shape depiction, a field which concerns itself with techniques to represent and enhance the three-dimensional (3D) shape of objects in two-dimensional (2D) visual media. The main idea of Local Light Alignment is to locally adjust the incoming direction of light to create contrast in a way that enhances the perception of shape and surface detail. LÄS MER

  5. 5. A theoretical framework for interpretation and prediction of magneto-optical measurements

    Kandidat-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Materialteori

    Författare :Viktor Frilén; [2023]
    Nyckelord :moke; tmoke; lmoke; pmoke; magneto-optical effects; layered media; dielectric function; maxwells equations; dielectric tensor; linear respons; magnetism; light induced transistions; DFT; SO;

    Sammanfattning : The interplay of experiments and theory is essential to deepen our understanding of magnetization dynamics. This thesis aims to serve as a bridge between these two aspects by establishing a mathematical framework that enables the computation of optical observable quantities based on theoretical models.
