  1. 1. An Investigation of Low-Rank Decomposition for Increasing Inference Speed in Deep Neural Networks With Limited Training Data

    Uppsats för yrkesexamina på avancerad nivå, KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Författare :Victor Wikén; [2018]
    Nyckelord :deep neural networks; convolutional neural networks; AlexNet; inference speed; optimization; low-rank tensor decomposition; fine-grained classification problem; dog breed classification; transfer learning;

    Sammanfattning : In this study, to increase inference speed of convolutional neural networks, the optimization technique low-rank tensor decomposition has been implemented and applied to AlexNet which had been trained to classify dog breeds. Due to a small training set, transfer learning was used in order to be able to classify dog breeds. LÄS MER

  2. 2. When translators go barking up the wrong tree : A study of metaphor translation strategies in a dog breed book

    Magister-uppsats, Linnéuniversitetet/Institutionen för språk (SPR)

    Författare :Linda Kornberg Krogh; [2018]
    Nyckelord :Metaphor; translation; translation strategies; lexicalized; non-lexicalized; MIP;

    Sammanfattning : The translation of metaphors can cause problems for a translator since what is typical for a metaphor is that the intended meaning does not match its literal meaning, which can lead to misunderstandings. Apart from this, language differences and cultural differences can also cause problems. LÄS MER

  3. 3. The role of Myostatin polymorphisms in the Finnhorse and Shetland pony breeds

    Master-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Animal Breeding and Genetics

    Författare :Laura Bas Conn; [2017]
    Nyckelord :Horse; Myostatin; Finnhorse; Shetland pony; Harness racing; Performance; Conformation;

    Sammanfattning : Myostatin, encoded by the MSTN gene, is a member of the transforming growth factor β that normally acts to limit skeletal muscle mass by regulating both the number and growth of muscle fibers. Natural mutations that decrease the amounts of myostatin and/or inhibit its function have been identified in several cattle, sheep and dog breeds, where loss-of-function mutations cause increased skeletal muscle mass and produce a phenotype known as “double-muscling”. 4. 4. Etiology of patellar luxation in small breed dogs

    Kandidat-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Biomedical Sciences and Veterinary Public Health

    Författare :Ana-Marija Camber; [2017]
    Nyckelord :patellar luxation; canine; dog; loose patella;

    Sammanfattning : Patellaluxation (PL) är en vanlig ortopedisk sjukdom som karakteriseras av att patellan kan luxera från trochlea ossis femoris. Detta sker antingen manuellt, spontant när hunden är i rörelse eller så är patellan permanent fixerad utanför fåran. LÄS MER
