    Sammanfattning : The use of super-resolution (SR) microscopy is an important tool for understanding the inside mechanisms of bacterial cells. However, for SR imaging, the labelling of the proteins of interest is a great challenge as flourescent proteins (FPs) are often too big to be directly fused to the target protein and traditional immunolabelling with antibodies creates too long separation between the fluorophore and the target protein. 3. 3. Characterization of ulvan polysaccharide degrading enzymes from Wenyingzhuangia fucanilytica

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Bioteknik; Lunds universitet/Bioteknik (master)

    Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis was to fully characterize the enzyme WFp-105, including bioinformatic analysis, structural modeling, full activity and stability characterization and product determination. As well as for the enzyme WFp-37; optimize protein production in regard to expression strains and cultivation temperature, analyzing the genomic context as well as performing an initial activity detection. 4. 4. The transfer of chromosomal genes through bacterial conjugation in Escherichia coli

    Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för medicinsk biokemi och mikrobiologi

    Författare :Arijana Katana; [2021]
    Nyckelord :conjugation; escherichia coli; hybrid;

    Sammanfattning : Evolution in bacteria occurs through the combined effects of spontaneous mutations and horizontal gene transfer (HGT). Several mechanisms can lead to HGT: (i) transformation, the uptake of DNA from the environment; (ii) transduction, the transfer of DNA carried by a bacteriophage into another bacterium during infection; and (iii) conjugation, bacterial mating mediated by a conjugative plasmid like the F-factor. 5. 5. Increased expression of therapeutic proteins by identification of 3'-UTRs from high expressing genes in CHO cells

    Master-uppsats, Linköpings universitet/Institutionen för fysik, kemi och biologi

    Nyckelord :Mammalian cell; CHO; E. coli; protein expression; plasmid; transformation; Fc-fusion protein; flow cytometry; FACS; transfection; mRNA; UTR; gene engineering;

    Sammanfattning : Therapeutic proteins, a.k.a. biopharmaceuticals, are most commonly produced in expression systems derived from Chinese Hamstery Ovary (CHO) cells, thanks to great capacity of post-translational modifications like secretation, folding and glycosylation. LÄS MER
