  1. 1. Load profiling and customer segmentation for demand-side management

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Författare :Anne Baril; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Smart meter data; TLP; customer segmentation; DSM; EE; D R; clustering; Data från smarta mätare; TLP; kundsegmentering; DSM; EE; D R; klustring;

    Sammanfattning : The energy transition is accompanied by massive electrification of uses and sectors such as transport. As a result, the pressure on the electricity grid is increasing, and the time to connect to the power system is lengthening. LÄS MER

  2. 2. FEASIBILITY ANALYSIS FOR THE DECARBONISATION OF A DECENTRALISED GRID SYSTEM: A CASE STUDY FOR THE ISLAND OF FUERTEVENTURA, SPAIN

    Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för geovetenskaper

    Författare :Pablo Melian Batista; [2022]
    Nyckelord :Hybrid renewable energy systems; HOMER Software; Wind energy; PV; Battery storage; Distributed generation; Decarbonisation;

    Sammanfattning : Decarbonisation of different energy sectors of society is becoming a pressing issue globally withnumerous legislations and objectives being set to decarbonise electrical grids worldwide. Somehave already been met; however, islanded grids still heavily rely on fossil fuels to meet their electrical demand due to the weakness of their grid and limited available space forcing them to use space-efficient technologies such as diesel generators. 3. 3. Techno-economic analysis of Battery Energy Storage Systems and Demand Side Management for peak load shaving in Swedish industries

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Kraft- och värmeteknologi

    Författare :Benjamin Skog Nestorovic; Douglas Lindén; [2020]
    Nyckelord :Peak load shaving; battery energy storage system; demand side management; Fast Frequency Reserve market; power tariff; Effektoppsreducering; batterilagringssystem; efterfrågeflexibilitet; Fast Frequency Reserve; effekttariffer;

    Sammanfattning : The Swedish electrical grid has historically been robust and reliable, but with increased electrification in numerous sectors, out-phasing of nuclear power and a high market diffusion of wind power, the system is now facing challenges. The rotational energy in the system is expected to decrease as a result of higher shares of intermittent energy sources, which can affect the stability of the grid frequency negatively. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Assessment of optimization control strategies for energy management

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Optimeringslära och systemteori

    Författare :Bahar Kasbi; [2020]
    Nyckelord :Optimization; linear programming; applied linear optimization; sensitivity analysis; energy management; demand side management DSM ; heat pump scheduling; setpoint; Optimering; tillämpad linjär optimering; linjär programmering; känslighetsanalys; energihantering; värmepumpsplanering; börvärde;

    Sammanfattning : With the increasing demand for renewable energy sources, new systems are being developed to sustain future infrastructure, accommodating these new energy sources. One of the proposed solutions is to incorporate distributed energy resources to different households in order to provide local energy demands effectively. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Airing Out the Dirty Laundry

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Internationella miljöinstitutet

    Författare :Thomas Hallman; [2019]
    Nyckelord :Demand Side Management; electricity consumption peaks; residential electricity use; grid capacity; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : A variety of demand side management (DSM) methods are needed to ensure electric grid reliability and to integrate increasing shares of renewable energy sources into electricity networks. To investigate whether communal laundry rooms in Stockholm represent a good candidate for employing DSM to reduce the severity of electricity load peaks, tenants are surveyed on their willingness to temporarily lose some laundry schedule availability during typical peak load hours.
