  1. 1. Traditional Knowledge and Practices for Resilience to Climate Change in Nepal’s Mid-Hills: Perspectives from Darma and Madi Rural Municipalities

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Avdelningen för Riskhantering och Samhällssäkerhet

    Författare :Dina-Josepha Rodehorst; Tabitha Black-Lock; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Climate change; traditional knowledge; Indigenous knowledge; Nepal; resilience; agriculture; Magar; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : With climate change impacting countries around the world, rural communities in Nepal are among those most affected. As acknowledged by global climate discourses, traditional knowledge plays a vital role in understanding and adapting to climate change. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Snow cover related camouflage mismatch decreases survival

    Master-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Wildlife, Fish and Environmental Studies

    Författare :Pieter Otte; [2022]
    Nyckelord :climate change; snow cover; seasonal colour coat; crypsis; mismatch; camera trap; survival analysis;

    Sammanfattning : Climate change is expected to decrease winter severity at high latitudes, resulting in reduced days of snow cover. Several mammalian and avian species in the northern hemisphere express a seasonal colour coat (SCC) making them white in winter periods and brown or dark in summer. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Masshantering : Massors tekniska byggbarhet i anläggningsprojekt

    M1-uppsats, Högskolan i Borås/Akademin för textil, teknik och ekonomi

    Författare :Sarah Fofana; Meriam Daoud; [2022]
    Nyckelord :Masshantering; cirkularitet; teknisk byggbarhet av massor;

    Sammanfattning : Anläggningsbranschen står för den stora delen av avfall i form av schaktmassor i Sverige. För att hantera schaktmassor behövs en bra och detaljerad forskning, detta ska leda till minskning av koldioxids utsläpp som påverkar klimatet. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Including a Vulnerability Centred Adaptation Perspective in Urban Climate Assessment : The Case of International Women in the Malmö Lund Region

    Master-uppsats, Malmö universitet/Institutionen för Urbana Studier (US)

    Författare :Severine Renard; [2022]
    Nyckelord :climate; climate adaptation; climate change; climate analysis; hazard; impact assessment; international women; Malmö Lund Region; risk assessment; vulnerability assessment;

    Sammanfattning : The topic of climate adaptation has gained momentum in the last decade as a response to the increasing rate at which global climate is changing. There are two leading discourses to climate adaptation, Climate Change Adaptation (CCA) perspectives, which focuses on adapting to specific climate hazards and scenarios, and Vulnerability Centred Adaptation (VCA), which focuses on the socio-economic and environmental factors that compound climate impacts. 5. 5. Behind the early warning: Improving impact-based forecasting of riverine floods in Malawi using passive microwave remote sensing

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskap

    Författare :Lone Mokkenstorm; [2021]
    Nyckelord :Physical Geography; Ecosystem Analysis; Early Warning; Riverine Floods; Humanitarian Work; Impact-based Forecasting; Malawi; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis investigates whether freely available, coarse-resolution, Passive Microwave Remote Sensing (PMRS) data (37 GHz) can be effectively used for early warning systems for floods in Malawi. The Shire River Basin in Chikwawa and the smaller-scale North Rukuru River Basin in Karonga were studied using two alternative, ratio-based satellite indices that make use of the signal difference between wet and dry pixel cells: The m index and the rcmc index.
