  1. 1. Cultivating Resilient Local Food Systems: Identifying opportunities and strategies for sustainable public procurement

    Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för geovetenskaper

    Författare :Madison Sherwood-Walter; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Sustainable Development; Local Food Systems; Public Procurement; Innovation; Agricultural Policy; Rural Development;

    Sammanfattning : The industrialization of the global food system has drastically altered agricultural practices, transitioning from small-scale, subsistence farming to large-scale, transnational supply chains dominated by agribusinesses. While this shift has increased productivity, it has led to environmental degradation, economic inequity, and loss of traditional agricultural knowledge. LÄS MER

  2. 2. High Capacity Transport för masstransporter i stadsmiljö för ökad transporteffektivitet och miljövinning

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Hållbar utveckling, miljövetenskap och teknik

    Författare :Lena Walter; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Mass transport; transport efficiency; load classes; SWOT analysis; Massatransporter; transporteffektivitet; bärighetsklasser; SWOT-analys;

    Sammanfattning : En växande urban befolkning påverkar förutsättningarna för transporter i städer genom ökad trängsel. På grund av den höga byggnadstakten genereras stora mängder berg- och jordmassor som leder till ett högt antal byggrelaterade transporter som påverkar klimatet genom koldioxidutsläpp och som försämrar luftkvaliteten. 3. 3. Assessing the Eco-efficiency of Swedish Crop Farms and the Role of Subsidies : a Directional Distance Function Approach

    Master-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Economics

    Författare :Therese Ratilla; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Swedish crop farmers; CAP subsidies; FADN; stochastic frontier analysis; multi-output; one-step approach;

    Sammanfattning : The agriculture sector’s contribution to global greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and its increasing vulnerability to the effects of climate change warrants assessments considering not only on-farm productivity but also the industry’s environmental sustainability. Utilizing the concept of eco-efficiency, this study analyzes the environmental performance of Swedish crop farms by incorporating farm-level GHG emissions as an undesirable output in the production function. 4. 4. Risk Factors of Food Loss and Waste, and Life Cycle Assessment of waste management strategies in the Brazilian Leafy Vegetable Supply Chain

    Master-uppsats, Högskolan i Borås/Akademin för textil, teknik och ekonomi

    Författare :Nathalie Garavito; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Behavioural causes; carbon footprint; causal mapping; mitigation strategies; prevention; root-cause analysis; take-back agreements;

    Sammanfattning : Food loss and waste (FLW) occurring early in the food supply chain (FSC) leads to increased resource wastage, including land, water, fertilisers, pesticides, fuel, packaging, energy, and labour. Targeting FLW prevention benefits various aspects such as food security, productivity, economic growth, climate change mitigation, resource conservation, and food waste management. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Using remote sensing and land abandonment as a proxy for long-term human out-migration. A Case Study: Al-Hassakeh Governorate, Syria

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskap

    Författare :Berit Mohr; [2021]
    Nyckelord :geography; GIS; remote sensing; Syria; vegetation indices; land abandonment; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : The topic of human migration and displacement has become more important in recent years and will continue to do so in the following decades. Voices become louder claiming that climate change is a driving factor for increased displacement and migration. LÄS MER
