  1. 1. Investigating the potential correlations between metal and metalloid concentrations and soil color : A Minor Field Study on the island province of Marinduque, Philippines

    Kandidat-uppsats, KTH/Hållbar utveckling, miljövetenskap och teknik

    Författare :Ivana Pia Saric Söderholm; Erik Readwin; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Marinduque; Metal and Metalloid; Nix Pro 2 Color Sensor; Philippines; Soil color; X-Ray Fluorescence XRF ; Filippinerna; Jordfärg; Marinduque; Metall och Metalloid; Nix Pro 2 Color Sensor; Röntgenfluorescens XRF ;

    Sammanfattning : This study was carried out as a bachelor's thesis at KTH Royal Institute of Technology during the spring of 2023, investigating the correlation between the color with the concentration of various metal and metalloids (MMs) in the soil of Marinduque, The Philippines. With a history of mineral exploitation, notably copper and gold, the island has faced persistent environmental challenges, exemplified by the catastrophic waste spills in 1993 and 1996 that contaminated the Boac and Mogpog Rivers. 2. 2. Investigating the potential of systematic optical petrography in a geometallurgical context : A case study on boulder characterization from Rajapalot property, Finland

    Uppsats för yrkesexamina på avancerad nivå, Luleå tekniska universitet/Institutionen för samhällsbyggnad och naturresurser

    Författare :Annie Björk; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Petrography; optical microscopy; scanning electron microscopy; geometallurgy; mining value chain; Peräpohja belt;

    Sammanfattning : Geometallurgy describes a holistic approach to mining (integrating geological, metallurgical, geotechnical, environmental, and more parameters) with the goal to improve the efficiency and sustainability of a mining operation. The potential of systematic optical petrography in a geometallurgical context was investigated in this study, as well as how petrography may be useful across disciplines in several blocks of the mining value chain. 3. 3. Micromechanical Characterization of Thin Paper Materials

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Fasta tillståndets fysik; Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen; Lunds universitet/Lunds Tekniska Högskola

    Författare :Linus Bengtsson; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Micromechanical characterization; SEM; In situ tensile testing; Paper deformation; Fiber orientation; Paper mechanics; Technology and Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : Hur ser framtidens hållbara förpackning ut och vad är den tillverkad av? För att besvara denna fråga blir mikromekanisk karakterisering av material en viktig parameter att utforska och förstå. I synnerhet är mikromekaniken hos tunna pappersmaterial intressant då materialet har användningspotential i flera förpackningsapplikationer. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Investigating the effect of grinding method on ore beneficiation behaviour

    Master-uppsats, Luleå tekniska universitet/Mineralteknik och metallurgi

    Författare :Mellisa Tanaka Mundida; [2023]
    Nyckelord :flotation; grinding; liberation; chalcopyrite; beneficiation; grinding method; selectivity index; VRM; Aitik ore; rodmill; particle shape;

    Sammanfattning : Commodity projection studies anticipate an exponential increase in copper demand and decreasein mill grade of deposits currently exploited globally. Most of this demand is driven by theindispensable use of copper in electrification and currently, the growing demand in the contextof the green transition. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Influence of supercritical carbon dioxide (scco2) dyeing parameters on color fastness of polyester fabric dyed with disperse dye : A study towards minimizing the energy consumption of polyester (pet) fabric dyeing with azo disperse dye

    Master-uppsats, Högskolan i Borås/Akademin för textil, teknik och ekonomi

    Författare :Tapas Das; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Supercritical fluid dyeing; polyester PET fabric; coranger orange PE3330; color fastness; ideal dyeing conditions; eco-friendly;

    Sammanfattning : Amid growing environmental concern and continuous depletion of natural resources (such as water), the textile industry is constantly searching for sustainable production process. Traditional dyeing processes, notorious for their enormous water consumption, have led society to search alternative dyeing method. LÄS MER
