1. A Defense of the Permissibility of Prejudice
Kandidat-uppsats, Umeå universitet/Institutionen för idé- och samhällsstudierSammanfattning : This paper argues for the counter intuitive notion that some prejudice is morally justified. The argument is divided up into three parts: (1) what prejudice is, (2) the role of epistemology and (3) the final moral argument. A weaker form of the KK-thesis (if one knows, one is also in a position to know that one knows) is first defended against Williamson's anti-luminosity arguments. LÄS MER
5. Trust me, I'm a Priest! : Justifying Epistemic Trust in Religious Authorities
Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Teologiska institutionenSammanfattning : In this thesis I argue that epistemic trust in religious authorities is different from epistemic trust in other kinds of authorities because God disturbs the two-party relationship between trustee and truster. I reach this conclusion by first examining the nature of epistemic trust in authorities and how it is justifiable to practice this kind of trust. LÄS MER
