    Sammanfattning : This project investigates Russian nationalist organisations during the invasion of Ukraine, to study their collective identity and practises. It features an ethnography of 26 organisations, their websites and social media.     Sammanfattning : With Russia becoming increasingly hostile towards the West with the culmination of the full-scale invasion into Ukraine in February of 2022, the rhetoric of Putin has been linked to the philosophy of a geopolitically aggressive right-wing sociologist called Alexander Dugin. With several previous statements pertaining to the delegitimization of the sovereignty of Europe Dugin has previously argued for the Finlandization of the continent as a way for Russia to reactivate its imperial past. Although Russia tends to be a strong defender of Westphalian sovereignty and a frequent critic of interventions carried out by the West, this was not the first time Russia intervened in another country.     Sammanfattning : As a relatively new theoretical framework, Securitization Theory has been criticized for its descriptive, rather than explanatory, nature, lack of unified methodology and its limited transferability. By using the Black Sea Region as an empirical example, I offer a new perspective on the merits of Securitization Theory–namely that it should be seen as a step towards an integrated multidisciplinary approach that allows for a dialogue between different theoretical schools.
