1. Sex-specific pathological response to Traumatic Brain Injury
Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Examensarbeten i molekylärbiologiSammanfattning : Traumatic brain injury (TBI) is one of leading causes of death in the world; survivors commonly exhibit behavioural changes and neurocognitive defects in the long-term. Following TBI, rapid changes in the neurovascular unit (NVU) occur as the permeability of the blood brain barrier (BBB) increases and cerebral blood flow (CBF) becomes dysregulated. LÄS MER
2. Whole-Cell Patch Clamp Investigations on Rapid Synaptic Scaling of Mouse CA1 Pyramidal Neurons under Optogenetic Stimulation
Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Tillämpad biokemi; Lunds universitet/BeräkningskemiSammanfattning : The brain consists of billions of neurons forming intricate contiguous networks. The connective strength in these networks change throughout life in response to experience and environmental stimuli. LÄS MER
3. Effects of Different Laminins on Human Neural Progenitor Cells Cultured in 3D Electrospun Fibers
Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Tillämpad biokemi; Lunds universitet/BeräkningskemiSammanfattning : A low success rate of drug candidates in clinical trials, and especially in brain research, motivates development of better screening models. Hence, in neuroscience and many other fields of Life Science, development of more physiological relevant experimental cell-based models is motivated. LÄS MER
4. Assessing the ability of LARGE overexpression to prevent the development of muscular dystrophy
Master-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Biomedical Sciences and Veterinary Public HealthSammanfattning : Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) is a hereditary X-linked fatal disease that affects 1 in 3500 male births. It is the most common kind of muscular dystrophy in children and leads to death in the late teens or early 20s for many patients. The mdx mouse is a model of DMD that can be used to investigate experimental therapies. LÄS MER
5. Differential and co-expression of long non-coding RNAs in abdominal aortic aneurysm
Uppsats för yrkesexamina på avancerad nivå, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för biologisk grundutbildningSammanfattning : This project concerns an exploration of the presence and interactions of long non-coding RNA transcripts in an experimental atherosclerosis mouse model with relevance for human abdominal aortic aneurysm development. 187 long noncoding RNAs, two of them entirely novel, were found to be differentially expressed between angiotensin II treated (developing abdominal aortic aneurysms) and non-treated apolipoprotein E deficient mice (not developing aneurysms) harvested after the same period of time.
