  1. 1. The Sound of Skepticism Analyzing Climate Change Denial in Swedish Podcasts and YouTube Channels

    Kandidat-uppsats, Göteborgs universitet / / Institutionen för sociologi och arbetsvetenskap

    Författare :Victoria Vallström; [2024-02-14]
    Nyckelord :denialism; climate skepticism; social movements; countermovements; digital media; digital data; computational grounded theory; topic modeling; computational text analysis;

    Sammanfattning : This study explores Sweden's climate change denial by analyzing the spoken-word discourse of its countermovement, focusing on digital media content from Swedish parliament member Elsa Widding with an aim to provide empirical insights into the discourse of Sweden's Climate Change Countermovement (CCCM). Questions guiding this study are: What are the most prevalent topics and themes related to climate change denial and skepticism? How do they align with established categories of climate change denial, shaping the overall narrative? What mobilizing ideas and meanings are present, how are they shaped, and how do they contribute to the movement's goals? The material consists of Elsa Widding's complete audio-based "movement texts'' from 2019-2023, including YouTube content, podcasts, and appearances on Riks, totaling over 2000 minutes of audio transcribed into text via AI technology. 2. 2. Behavioural response in pigs at gas stunning in foam

    Master-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Animal Environment and Health

    Författare :Madeleine Persson; [2024]
    Nyckelord :stunning methods; slaughter; animal welfare; carbon dioxide; high-expansion foam; nitrogen; argon;

    Sammanfattning : There are several stunning methods used for the commercial slaughter of pigs. The two most common are electric stunning and stunning with carbon dioxide gas. It has been shown that there are several problems related to animal welfare in the stunning methods used today in commercial slaughter. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Utilizing Hydra for Real-Time Reconstruction of Environments in Extended Reality

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Ergonomi och aerosolteknologi

    Författare :Edward Sjöblom; Hannes Rydén Sonesson; [2024]
    Nyckelord :extended reality; usability testing; Technology and Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis explores the use of Hydra for real-time reconstruction of environments in extended reality (XR). The development of the prototype was performed in an iterative manner. Three iterations were executed, each resulting in a prototype with improvements related to the takeaways from the preceding prototype. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Aerodynamics simulations of Scania trucks using OpenFOAM

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Teknisk mekanik

    Författare :Ziyi Liu; [2024]
    Nyckelord :Heavy-duty truck; Computational fluid dynamics; Air drag; OpenFOAM;

    Sammanfattning : In the field of heavy-duty vehicles, fuel efficiency and environmental protection are factors that need to be focused on, while the aerodynamic drag generated during vehicle travelling is one of the most influential aspects. This thesis delves into the aerodynamic simulation of Scania trucks using the open-source Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) tool, OpenFOAM v2206. LÄS MER
