  1. 1. Upper Ordovician through lowermost Silurian stratigraphy and facies of the Borenshult-1 core, Östergötland, Sweden

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Geologiska institutionen

    Författare :Amir Noor; [2010]
    Nyckelord :Borenshult-1 core; palaeoclimate; upper Ordovician; sea-level; GICE; HICE; Baltoscandia; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : The Ordovician is an important period in the Phanerozoic, with remarkable faunal turnovers, several major carbon isotope excursions, and shifting climate. The strata of this time period not only re-veal these events but also provide useful information about the palaeoclimate and sea-level. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Changes in beyrichiid ostracode faunas during the Late Silurian Lau Event on Gotland, Sweden

    Magister-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Geologiska institutionen

    Författare :Rebecka Rääf; [2010]
    Nyckelord :Gotland; Late Silurian; Lau Event; ostracodes; Beyrichiidae; faunal turnovers; Sensilur; Laukatastrofen; ostrakoder; beyrichiider; faunaförändringar; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : This paper deals with how palaeocope ostracodes of the family Beyrichiidae, from the Silurian strata at Gotland were affected by the Late Silurian Lau Event. The Lau Event is associated with a positive carbon isotope excursion, lithology changes and faunal changes in accumulated strata related to sea-level changes and a glaciation in the Late Ludlow. 3. 3. Extinctions and faunal turnovers of early vertebrates during the Late Silurian Lau Event, Gotland, Sweden

    Magister-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Geologiska institutionen

    Författare :Eva K. Nilsson; [2005]
    Nyckelord :Lau Event; Late Silurian; Gotland; utdöenden; fjäll; vertebrater; Laukatastrofen; sensilur; early vertebrates; scales; extinctions; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : The Late Silurian Lau Event is one of the three major events identified in the Gotland strata. It is associated with one of the largest stable carbon isotope excursion recorded in the Phanerozoic, as well as rapid lithology changes, and extinctions and faunal turnovers among various fossil groups.
