1. Fekunditet hos honor av Drosophila melanogaster med en potentiell sexuellt antagonistisk gen : En fördjupande studie inom experimentell validering av en potentiell sexuellt antagonistisk gen hos Drosophila melanogaster
Kandidat-uppsats, Karlstads universitet/Institutionen för miljö- och livsvetenskaper (from 2013)Sammanfattning : Sexual conflicts arise when there is a difference in how females and males of a species or population achieve their maximum reproductive fitness. In intralocus sexual conflicts, alleles at a given locus are exposed to conflicting, or antagonistic, selection pressures. LÄS MER
2. Predatorinducerad fekunditet hos Daphnia pulex vid simulerade årstidsbundna temperaturvariationer
Magister-uppsats, Karlstads universitet/Fakulteten för hälsa, natur- och teknikvetenskap (from 2013)Sammanfattning : Female growth, number of eggs and egg growth of Daphnia pulex were studied at four temperatures, 12, 16, 18 and 20°C. I hypothesized that female growth and number of eggs would be lower and the size of the eggs larger in the presence of a predator (kairomones) than in its absence. This effect was expected to be more evident at lower temperatures. LÄS MER
3. SIZE DEPENDENT FECUNDITY IN THE SIGNAL CRAYFISH AND ITS IMPORTANCE FOR A SUSTAINABLE FISHERY
Kandidat-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Miljövetenskaplig utbildningSammanfattning : The signal crayfish (Pacifastacus leniusculus) is of great economic and social value in Sweden. Therefore it is of great importance that knowledge and experience is obtained and applied when creating a sustainable fishing industry. LÄS MER
4. Life history and large-scale habitat use of brown trout (Salmo trutta) and brook trout (Salvelinus fontinalis) : implications for distributional patterns in small lotic systems
L3-uppsats, SLU/Dept. Of Aquatic ResourcesSammanfattning : Over the years, several salmonid species have been widely spread and successfully introduced all over the world. In Sweden, introduced brook trout (Salvelinus fontinalis) has been successful in establishing a substantial number of new populations, a fact that has raised concerns about indigenous brown trout (Salmo trutta) populations being outcompeted.
