21. Genetic Algorithms for optimizing behavior trees in air combat
Master-uppsats, Linköpings universitet/Artificiell intelligens och integrerade datorsystemSammanfattning : Modelling and simulating entities in virtual environments are tools commonly used by companies to test, validate and verify their products in close to real scenarios; effectivelyreducing the cost, time and effort compared to real life testing. This is especially the case in the area of air combat where realistic behaviors are not only a necessity, but paramount to replace the costs of fuel and operation time. LÄS MER
22. Mescape - A probabilistic mesoscopic model for fire evacuation in large gatherings
Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Avdelningen för BrandteknikSammanfattning : This study presents a mesoscopic model that predicts pedestrian evacuation in large gatherings with probabilistic methods. The model is based on a coarse network representation of buildings, where occupants are treated at a different scale according to their location. LÄS MER
23. Flow batteries - Impact on fire safety
Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Avdelningen för BrandteknikSammanfattning : The need for sustainable renewable energy has been increasing due to the negative impact of non-renewable energy sources. With the unstable and sporadic nature of sustainable renewable energy, flow batteries show immense potential in mitigating these issues. LÄS MER
24. Visibility in Smoke With Different Extinction Coefficients
Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Avdelningen för BrandteknikSammanfattning : Visibility in smoke has since the 1970s gained some attention, mostly after Tadahisa Jin ran the experiments which helped him develop todays widely used visibility equation. By showing that visibility can be assumed to be inversely proportional to the extinction coefficient by a visibility constant (equal to 8 for light emitting sign and 3 for light reflecting), Jin opened up new doors for researchers who were testing out his theory by going around experimenting in different ways and also by showing that there is way for more research to be done. 25. Simulation of standing versus crawling during evacuation from a smoke-filled room
Kandidat-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)Sammanfattning : Crawling is often the recommended method when evacuating from a burning room. In this study, an agent based crowd simulation in combination with a fire dynamics simulator is used in order to compare how well crawling evacuation compares to a standing type of evacuation. LÄS MER
