1. Evaluation of PFAS removal from nanofiltration membrane concentrate using foam fractionation
Uppsats för yrkesexamina på avancerad nivå, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för geovetenskaperSammanfattning : Per- and polyfluorinated substances (PFASs) have become an urgent topic in the water treatment industry in recent years as a consequence of new scientific discoveries of the correlation between the ingestion of some PFASs and their toxicity in humans and other organisms. PFASs are synthetic compounds present in a variety of products. LÄS MER
2. Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) and the effect on apoptosis in early porcine embryo development in vitro
Uppsats för yrkesexamina på avancerad nivå, SLU/Dept. of Clinical SciencesSammanfattning : The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of PFHxS (perfluorohexane sulfonic acid) and PFOS (perfluorooctane sulfonic acid) on early embryo development parameters and apoptosis on day 6 post fertilization in porcine embryos. A second purpose was to evaluate, and establish, the TUNEL assay in our IVF laboratory. LÄS MER
3. Utility of bark chips for removal of fluorinatedorganic compounds in water samples at a hazardouswaste management facility
Kandidat-uppsats, Örebro universitet/Institutionen för naturvetenskap och teknikSammanfattning : Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) are synthetic compounds that have beenaround since 1940. They can be used in a variety of products such as fire-fighting foam, food packaging and cosmetic products. Many PFAS have potential toxic effects on bothhumans and animals which poses a problem due to their wide distribution and persistency. LÄS MER

5. A study to understand the information gap between total organofluorine analysis and total oxidizable precursor assay on polyfluoroalkyl/perfluoroalkyl substances (PFASs)
Kandidat-uppsats, Örebro universitet/Institutionen för naturvetenskap och teknikSammanfattning : Total oxidizable precursor (TOP) assay is an oxidation method to convert precursor compound of polyfluoroalkyl/perfluoroalkyl substances (PFASs) into measurable perfluorinated carboxylic acids (PFCAs). A previous mass balance study has shown that a loss of fluorine was observed after employing the method to convert the precursors in firefighting foams. LÄS MER
