1. Exterior ballistics analysis for rocket propelled KE-penetrator - A conceptual simulation study within fluid mechanics and flight mechanics
Master-uppsats, KTH/Lättkonstruktioner, marina system, flyg- och rymdteknik, rörelsemekanikSammanfattning : This study has investigated the conceptual feasibility of a rocket propelled kinetic energy penetrator (KEP), designed for the handheld recoilless rifle Carl-Gustaf® 84 mm calibre system, from an exterior ballistics perspective. The methodology is based upon evaluating the aerodynamic properties of different conceptual design proposals through CFD-simulations and then performing trajectory analysis to assess their exterior ballistic performance. 2. Risk of fragment hit on aircraft after releasing a bomb
Master-uppsats, KTH/Lättkonstruktioner, marina system, flyg- och rymdteknik, rörelsemekanikSammanfattning : An aircraft is exposed for a certain risk during warhead deployment. If the distance is too short between the aircraftand warhead during burst, fragments may hit the aircraft with fatal consequences. The warhead consists not onlyof fragments created during burst but also parts to attach it to the aircraft such as mounting plates and fasteningloops. LÄS MER
3. Implementation of Machine Learning for Classification of Flight Simulation Data
Master-uppsats, KTH/Lättkonstruktioner, marina system, flyg- och rymdteknik, rörelsemekanikSammanfattning : The main objective of this thesis project is to explore the possibility of using machine learning as a way of categorizing flight simulation outcomes. If such a possibility exists, the process of analyzing whether a new configuration stays within given boundaries can be streamlined. LÄS MER
4. Development and Use of System Modeler 6DOF Flight Mechanics Model in Aircraft Conceptual Design
Master-uppsats, Linköpings universitet/Fluida och mekatroniska systemSammanfattning : This thesis presents a tool for conceptual design of a traditional configuration aircraft by using a parametric six degrees of freedom (6DOF) flight mechanics model implemented in the Modelica Language using Wolfram System Modeler. Being first only able to model and simulate the uncontrolled flight of an aircraft with fixed mass and centre of gravity (CG), and requiring detailed aerodynamic parameters as an input, the 6DOF model is improved by developing new features to reduce the number of required inputs while also increasing the data output of the simulations. 5. Enhancing the endurance of UAVs by the use of structural power composites: System-level study of a flying wing
Master-uppsats, KTH/LättkonstruktionerSammanfattning : This thesis studies the feasibility of integrating the novelStructural Battery (SB)[1] into the airframe of a UnmannedAerial Vehicle (UAV). The potential advantages in terms ofmass, range and endurance are studied. The aircraft performance is analysed using conventionalflight mechanics, modelled in Matlab and Xfoil. LÄS MER
