  1. 1. Optimization of Solid-State Fermentation process for brown seaweed using LAB and characterization of the products

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Bioteknik (CI); Lunds universitet/Bioteknik (master)

    Författare :Sweta Singh; [2024]
    Nyckelord :lactic acid bacteria; solid-state fermentation; Alaria esculenta; Saccharina latissima; seaweed fermentation; biotechnology; Technology and Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : Fermentation has played a vital role in human history, offering solutions for food preservation, culinary diversity, and the creation of diverse and flavorful foods and beverages. Its importance continues today, both in traditional practices and in modern industrial applications. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Optimizing access to raw material for value-adding processes of fish side streams

    Master-uppsats, Göteborgs universitet/Graduate School

    Författare :Ruodi Gao; [2023-10-10]
    Nyckelord :Fish Side Streams; Environmental Sustainability; Food Packaging; Transportation; Storage; Customs;

    Sammanfattning : Under the double influence of the rapid growth of the population and the shortage of resources, people begin to pay attention to the utilization of existing raw materials. Seafood is one of the indispensable foods for humans to obtain protein. However, as much as 60 per cent of the fish side stream is discarded or produced as low-value products. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Production of natural pigments from A. platensis grown on wastewater from local treatment facility.

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Teknisk mikrobiologi; Lunds universitet/Bioteknik

    Författare :Hana Faulds; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Cyanobacteria; pigments; microalgae; wastewater treatment; biotechnology; Technology and Engineering; Biology and Life Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : Although microalgae have been considered for the biological treatment of wastewater since the 1950’s, their potential to efficiently remove pollutants from various streams remains largely untapped and is yet to be utilized at large scale. The production of algal biomass and extraction of high-value compounds has, however, become increasingly popular with large scale farms and biorefineries around the world producing many promising alternatives to petroleum-based products and processes. 4. 4. Utveckling av en behållare för matleveranser med drönare

    M1-uppsats, KTH/Produktionsutveckling

    Författare :Olle Aronsson; Tanios Toufic Trad; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Drones; Food-containers; Innovation and design; Mechanical engineering; Product development; Drones; Machine design; CAD; Creo Parametric; FEA-analysis; Drönare; Behållare för matleverans; Innovation och Design; Maskinteknik; Produktutveckling; Maskinkonstruktion; CAD; CREO Parametric; Finita elementmetoder;

    Sammanfattning : Detta arbete kommer att fokusera på att ta fram och utforma en monterbar behållare för drönare så att de ska kunna användas för att leverera matvaror snabbt vid behov och med hänsyn till befintliga drönares kapacitet. I framtagningsprocessen så kommer de karaktäristiska punkterna för en strukturerad och faktabaserad utformning av en produkt att tillämpas vilket innefattar en identifiering av mål utifrån ett behov som produkten ska uppfylla och en faktainsamling av behovets karaktär och befintliga tekniska lösningar på liknande problem. 5. 5. Reprocessing and Characterization of Polybenzimidazole for High-Temperature Polymer Electrolyte Membrane Fuel Cells

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Centrum för analys och syntes

    Författare :Douglas Björkengren; [2023]
    Nyckelord :polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cells; PEMFC; HTPEMFC; polymer technology; polymer characterization; reprocessing; recycling; polybenzimidazole; PBI; Technology and Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : A reprocessing method of poly(2,2’-(m-phenylene)-5,5’-bibenzimidazole) (PBI) membranes recovered from the production line of High-Temperature Polymer Electrolyte Membrane Fuel Cells (HT-PEMFC) at Blue World Technologies (BWT) has been developed in order to reduce material loss in the production. Redissolution of scrap PBI membranes in poly(phosphoric acid) (PPA) and phosphoric acid (PA) was successful and the subsequent washing procedure produced PBI that could be redissolved in N,N-dimethyl acetamide (DMAc) and suitable for solution casting of new membranes.
