1. The Influence of Roughness on Electrical Properties of Single Rock Fractures
Master-uppsats, KTH/Hållbar utveckling, miljövetenskap och teknikSammanfattning : To investigate the relationship between the structural characteristics of rough single fracturesand the electrical properties of the rock. In this study, a series of physical models of roughand smooth single fractures were established using the finite element method and Ohm's lawto test the electrical conductivity. LÄS MER
2. Fatigue Crack Growth Analysis in Python algorithm with Finite Element Methods : Numerical Simulation of Fatigue Crack Growth
Master-uppsats, Karlstads universitetSammanfattning : The goal of this thesis was to construct and develop a python-based finite element computer program for the evaluation of fatigue crack growth rate in notched metallic rods. The simulation was done by implementing elastic stress theory and linear elastic fracture mechanics techniques. LÄS MER
3. Correlation between microstructure and fatigue cracks in cast aluminium alloy A205
Kandidat-uppsats, Jönköping University/Tekniska HögskolanSammanfattning : Materials research in the aerospace industry is, among other things, focused on reducing the weight and increasing the life of components. Materials with high strength and long lifespan are therefore examined. LÄS MER
4. Comparing different methods of measuring particle size for pharmaceutical excipients
Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Livsmedelsteknik och nutrition (master)Sammanfattning : In pharmaceutical science, particle size is one of the most fundamental parameters of materials, but different particle-sizing analysis methods lack a uniform standard for measuring irregular particle size, making it difficult to compare the accuracy and applicability of different particle-sizing analysis methods. Experiments on excipients used in pharmaceuticals are carried out in this paper by laser diffraction analysis (Malvern wet and dry), dynamic image analysis (Qicpic), and microscopic methods (Qicpic, SEM, and light microscopy) to determine the applicability and limitations of each method, as well as to clarify their advantages and disadvantages. 5. Life and fracture in very high cycle fatigue of a high strength steel
Master-uppsats, Karlstads universitet/Institutionen för ingenjörsvetenskap och fysik (from 2013)Sammanfattning : Classical fatigue models teach that there is an intrinsic fatigue limit for steels, representing a level of stress that is too low for regular crack growth where every cyclic load propagates a fatigue crack through the material. Modern application with extreme lifetimes has shown that fatigue will still take place in steels with stress levels well below the expected fatigue limit. LÄS MER
