  1. 1. Influence of Post-treatments on Corrosion Properties of 3D printed Metal Components for Bioprocessing Applications

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Materialvetenskap

    Författare :Leyla Koort; [2023]
    Nyckelord :PBF-LB 316L; surface post-treatments; as-built; tumbling; Hirtisation; DLyte; electropolishing; chemical milling; pitting corrosion; CPT; cyclic potentiodynamic polarisation curves; immersion test in 1M NaCl and 1M NaOH;

    Sammanfattning : Additive manufacturing (AM) has the potential to overtake the conventional production of pipe systems of stainless steel grade 316L intended for bioprocessing applications by utilising powder bed fusion laser beam (PBF-LB) technologies. However, challenges such as high surface roughness need to be overcome and corrosion properties improved to meet industry standards. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Use of the JET pedestal database to assess the role of ion temperature and plasma rotation on the discrepancy between ideal peeling-ballooning model and experimental data

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Författare :Max Eichenberger; [2022]
    Nyckelord :Nuclear fusion; Joint European Torus JET ; H-mode; pedestal; Edge-localized-modes ELMs ; Peeling-Ballooning; relative shift; ion temperature; plasma rotation; Kärnfusion; JET Joint European Torus ; H-läge; piedestal; ELM Edge LocalizedModes ; peeling-ballooning; relativ förskjutning; jontemperatur; plasmarotation;

    Sammanfattning : Next-generation and present fusion devices such as the Joint European Torus (JET) aim for plasma operations in H-mode, a plasma regime with high confinement and low loss of energy and fuel that results from a barrier for heat and particle transport at the plasma edge, the pedestal. Due to steep gradients of the density, temperature and pressure profiles, the pedestal experiences instabilities called Edge-localized-modes (ELMs) which lead to large fluxes of heat and particles that might damage machine components. 3. 3. Fabricability of a high alloy tool steel produced with LPBF, with a focus on part geometry

    Master-uppsats, Karlstads universitet

    Författare :Zulfaqar Abdelamir; [2021]
    Nyckelord :Addtive Manufacturing; Laser Powder Bed Fusion; High alloy Cold Work Tool Steel; Addtiv Tillverkning; LPBF; Höglegerat kallbearbetningsstål;

    Sammanfattning : Additive manufacturing (AM) is a promising manufacturing process that provides that ability to fabricate components with complex geometries with relatively low lead times compared to other manufacturing processes. This allows for more freedom of design, as prototypes can easily be produced throughout the development process. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Modeling of RF Heating in the JET Tokamak

    Kandidat-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Författare :Emil Söderman; Wilhelm Holmberg; [2021]
    Nyckelord :fusion; tokamak; ICRH; RF heating; JET;

    Sammanfattning : Fusion reactors need methods to couple externalpower to confined plasmas. Ion cyclotron resonance heating(ICRH) is a method to radiate electromagnetic waves to couplepower to the kinetic motion of gyrating ions in a plasma. In thisreport we study ICRH with regard to the dispersive effects ofthe confined plasma in the JET tokamak. LÄS MER

  5. 5. The effect of stripe width, stripe overlap, gas flow, and scan angle on process stability in Laser Powder Bed Fusion (L-PBF)

    Master-uppsats, Karlstads universitet/Fakulteten för hälsa, natur- och teknikvetenskap (from 2013)

    Författare :Carl Högman; [2021]
    Nyckelord :Additive Manufacturing; Laser Powder Bed Fusion; Process Stability; Process Parameters;

    Sammanfattning : It is known that altering different processing parameters will yield completely different results in additive manufacturing. Some of the most common ones to alter to increase material quality or to increase productivity are laser power, hatch distance, layer thickness and scan speed. LÄS MER
