1. A re-investigation of hummocky moraine formed from ice sheet decay using geomorphological and sedimentological evidence in the Vomb area, southern Sweden
Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Geologiska institutionenSammanfattning : Glacial sediment-landform assemblages have long been used to reconstruct the dynamics of ice sheets throughout the Quaternary time period, particularly so for the period of the last glaciation in northern Europe and southern Scandinavia. One such sediment-landform assemblage is hummocky moraine, which has previously been used as an all-encompassing descriptive terminology strongly associated with dead ice meltout and passive deglaciation. 2. Determination of depositional environment and luminescence dating of Pleistocene deposits in the Biely Váh valley, southern foothills of the Tatra Mountains, Slovakia
Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Geologiska institutionenSammanfattning : The Tatra Mountains have had several glaciations during the Quaternary. The deposits located in the southern foothills were classified as glacifluvial, based on geomorphology, but its sediments have not been studied in detail. LÄS MER
3. Two Boat Lake as an Historical Archive for Future Studies by GRASP : Greenland Analogue Surface Project
Kandidat-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för geovetenskaperSammanfattning : Two Boat Lake is a non-glacial lake situated within the largest ice free area on Greenland. This literary study has investigated whether it could potentially become a good environmental archive in future studies. LÄS MER
4. LiDAR-bildanalys av flutings i södra Norrbotten : Kartering och datering av avvikande isrörelseriktningar
Kandidat-uppsats, Umeå universitet/Institutionen för ekologi, miljö och geovetenskapSammanfattning : The aim of this study was to map and date glacial flutings with ice flows deviating from the predominating northwesterly ice flow direction in the southern part of Norrbotten County in northern Sweden, and also to investigate if parts of the glacial landscape are older than previously thought. The traditional view is that most landforms in the area were formed during the late Weichselian (W3). LÄS MER
5. Jökulhlaups: their associated landforms and landscape impacts
Kandidat-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskapSammanfattning : Glacial outburst floods also known as jökulhlaups are important features connected with glaciers globally. They may induce catastrophic floods as well as new landforms. LÄS MER
