  1. 1. Forecasting Technological Diffusion through Analogies: Examining Historical Technologies to Assess the Future Growth of Green Hydrogen Electrolysis and Pipeline Network as Climate Mitigation Technologies

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Internationella miljöinstitutet

    Författare :Renz Homer Cerillo; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Technology diffusion; green hydrogen; electrolyze; pipeline; feasibility spaces; reference case forecasting; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : Green hydrogen is an advantageous clean energy carrier that enables the decarbonization of hard-to-abate sectors and addresses the intermittency of renewables. However, its global production is currently constrained by inadequate infrastructure, high investment risks, and relatively technological infancy. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Computational detection of human papilloma virus in the cervical cancer genome

    Magister-uppsats, Högskolan i Skövde/Institutionen för biovetenskap

    Författare :Hope Omoghene; [2023]
    Nyckelord :VirusFinder2; HPViewer; VirusSeq; HPV; Bioinformatics; Cervical cancer;

    Sammanfattning : Global research and development have witnessed new horizons in technological advancements, especially in the use of new-generation bioinformatic tools to solve human needs. Cervical cancer, caused by a sexually transmitted virus like human papillomavirus (HPV), is one of the most common cancers threatening women's health. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Hawkes Processes on Socialand Mass Media: : A Causal Study of the #BlackLivesMatter Movement inthe Summer of 2020

    Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Statistik, AI och data science

    Författare :Alfred Minh Lindström; [2023]
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : In this work we study interactions in social media and the reports in mass media during the Black LivesMatter (BLM) protests following the death of George Floyd. We implement open-source pipelines to process the data at scale and employ the self-exciting counting process known as Hawkes process to address our main question: is there a causal relation between interactions in social media and reports of street protests in mass media? Specifically, we use distributed label propagation to identify such interactions in Twitter, that supported the BLM movement, and compared the timing of these interaction to those of news reports of street protests mentioning George Floyd, via the Global Database of Events, Language, and Tone (GDELT) Project. 4. 4. Global buckling of subsea pipelines with DEH cable

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Hållfasthetslära

    Författare :Anders Meurk; [2022]
    Nyckelord :Solid Mechanics; Global Buckling; Subsea Pipelines; DEH cable; Hållfasthetslära; Global Buckling; Undervattensrörledningar; DEH kabel;

    Sammanfattning : Hydrates, wax, and other fluids forms in cold subsea pipelines which restrict flow of petroleum products during operation. This thesis analyses the global buckling behaviour of subsea pipelines with Direct Electric Heating cables (DEH) through a combination of analytical and FEM simulations. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Strategies for regional deployment of hydrogen infrastructure : The case of North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för industriell teknik och management (ITM)

    Författare :Roberto Di Molfetta; [2022]
    Nyckelord :Hydrogen; Infrastructure rollout; Supply chain pathways; Mobility; Hydrogen buses.;

    Sammanfattning : In response to the growing urge towards decarbonisation, more and more initiatives have been set to reduce and/or compensate the level of CO2 (carbon dioxide) emitted by human activities, which is one of the main responsible of the incumbent threats of “global warming” and “climate change”. “Climate neutrality by 2050” has become a decisive topic for political agendas worldwide and, against that background, the hydrogen economy can play a significant role.
