    Sammanfattning : Statistics from Swedish Crime Prevention Council show that foreign-born people are two and a half times more likely than those with Swedish-born parents to be registered for suspected crime (Martens & Holmberg, 2005). The purpose of this study is to investigate whether the suspects name is of significance when making a legal assessment and whether a person with a foreign name is punished more severely than a person with a Swedish name who has committed a similar crime.
