11. Dynamic Folding Knits: : Play, Interact, Explore
Master-uppsats,Sammanfattning : Physical interaction with textiles is generally found through the purpose of the textiles; for clothing, or interior use. We engage not just for the textiles, but primarily for it’s function. Within Dynamic Folding Knits, the purpose of the material is purely interaction focused. LÄS MER
12. Bilateral teleoperation : A study of architectures under different network delays
Master-uppsats, KTH/MekatronikSammanfattning : A bilateral teleoperation system makes it possible for a human operator to interact with a remote environment and receive feedback from their actions. In this work, two different teleoperation architectures are studied, one well-established approach called position-force, and another approach called Model-Mediated Teleoperation (MMT). LÄS MER
13. The Breathing Garment : Exploring Breathing-Based Interactions through Deep Touch Pressure
Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)Sammanfattning : Deep touch pressure is used to treat sensory processing difficulties by applying a firm touch to the body to stimulate the nervous system and soothe anxiety. I conducted a long-term exploration of deep touch pressure from a first-person perspective, using shape-changing pneumatic actuators, breathing and ECG sensors to investigate whether deep touch pressure can guide users to engage in semi-autonomous interactions with their breathing and encourage greater introspection and body awareness. 14. A study on wrist-based haptic weight conveyance in immersive virtual environments
Master-uppsats, Högskolan i Halmstad/Halmstad Embedded and Intelligent Systems Research (EIS)Sammanfattning : Physical properties of objects are some of the features that are lost when users are immersed in today's virtual environments that usually only provide visual and auditory stimuli. In a quest to recover the physical perception of touch, in this work, we present two different studies to assess how force feedback applied solely on the wrist can convey weight. LÄS MER
15. Experiencing the moment : Enhancing surroundig awareness when walking
Master-uppsats, Umeå universitet/Designhögskolan vid Umeå universitetSammanfattning : Todays technology provides the ability for people to interact with devices at all time, but it also makes them gaze down and loose touch with their surrounding while doing so. This project explored alternatives to the current way of providing guidance while walking by designing in the context, rather than design for the context. LÄS MER
