1. Characterization and modeling of hydrology and climatology in paramo ecosystems in Colombia : A study of the paramos and climate change impact on these ecosystems as a water resource
Uppsats för yrkesexamina på avancerad nivå, Uppsala universitet/Luft-, vatten- och landskapsläraSammanfattning : Paramos are unique ecosystems situated in the tropical Andes at an elevation of 2800-4800 meters above sea level. They are home to a variety of endemic species and have a great water regulating capacity and supply around 80 % of the population in Colombia with freshwater. LÄS MER
2. Intelligent hydropower : Making hydropower more efficient by utilizing machine learning for inflow forecasting
Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för industriell teknik och management (ITM)Sammanfattning : Inflow forecasting is important when planning the use of water in a hydropower plant. The process of making forecasts is characterized by using knowledge from previous events and occurrences to make predictions about the future. Traditionally, inflow is predicted using hydrological models. LÄS MER
3. Evaluation of CoupModel in Predicting Groundwater Levels
Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för geovetenskaperSammanfattning : The Geological Survey of Sweden (SGU) has initiated a project to calibrate models to simulategroundwater levels in monitoring wells of their Groundwater Network, based on a commission fromthe Swedish Government after experiencing historically low groundwater levels and shortage in 2016and 2017. A version of the HBV model with 4 parameters, focusing on calculating groundwaterrecharge and levels, was manually calibrated to 119 groundwater stations in 2017 and the modelresults were classified according to a ‘good’, ‘poor’ or ‘bad’ visual fit to observations. 4. Modeling hydrometeorological extremes in Alpine catchments
Uppsats för yrkesexamina på avancerad nivå, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för geovetenskaperSammanfattning : Uncertainties with a modeling framework consisting of a weather generator, two precipitation disaggregation models and the hydrological HBV model was assessed with respect to hydrometeorological extremes in Tyrol, Austria. Extreme precipitation events are expected to increase in intensity and frequency in the Alps during a warmer climate. LÄS MER
