1. Additives in a steam engine to decrease friction : Friction testing of solid lubricants in powder form
Master-uppsats, Karlstads universitet/Institutionen för ingenjörsvetenskap och fysik (from 2013)Sammanfattning : This thesis aims to investigate the coefficient of friction between steel on steel contacts with the addition of solid lubricants such as h-BN, WS2, MoS2 in powder form, in dry conditions and wet conditions. More specifically, the purpose is to enhance the sliding between the piston rings and cylinder block in a modern high temperature steam engine developed by RANOTOR. LÄS MER
2. Analysis of Heating Processes for the Production of Bipolar Plates in PEM Fuel Cells
Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för industriell teknik och management (ITM)Sammanfattning : Polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cells (PEMFCs) are a promising alternative to combustion engines and batteries in vehicles. PEMFCs are more efficient than combustion engines, and cars powered by PEMFCs tend to have longer ranges than battery powered cars and has a short fuelling time. LÄS MER
3. Electron Assisted Growth of Graphene atop Ir(111) supported Hexagonal Boron Nitride
Kandidat-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Synkrotronljusfysik; Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionenSammanfattning : Vertical heterostructures between graphene (Gr) and hexagonal boron nitride (hBN) have attracted a great deal of interest, due to their potential applications in the semiconductor industry as new and superior transistor materials. The direct growth of the heterostucture still remains challenging and in this bachelor thesis, I report a novel electron assisted growth technique, which is used to attempt to grow Gr atop hBN atop an Ir(111) single crystal surface. 4. Electron Assisted Growth of h-BN on Gr/Ir(111)
Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Synkrotronljusfysik; Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionenSammanfattning : Stacked heterostructures of two-dimensional (2D) materials are emerging as promising building blocks for a wide range of applications. These devices, which range from tunneling transistors to light-emitting diodes, use the properties of 2D materials that are not accessible by their bulk counterparts. LÄS MER
5. Fabrication of Tunneling Field Effect Transistors (TFETs) and the study of graphene
Kandidat-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Fasta tillståndets fysik; Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionenSammanfattning : After the discovery of graphene in 2004, a single layer of graphite, the assembly of 2D materials became a promising research area in solid state Physics. This thesis explores fabrication of 2D-heterostructures that aim to probe into graphene’s electronic structure with the Tunneling Field Effect Transistor (TFET). LÄS MER
