2. Expression and purification of pyruvate transporting human mitochondrial pyruvate carrier (MPC) protein complex for structural studies
Magister-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Examensarbeten i molekylärbiologiSammanfattning : Pyruvate is one of the main molecules needed for the citric acid cycle, which produces energy in the form of ATP. The citric acid cycle reaction occurs in the mitochondrial matrix, and for pyruvate to participate in the reaction, it needs to be transported from the cytosol across the mitochondrial membranes into the mitochondrial matrix. 3. Production and characterisation of a chlamydial antigen candidate for vaccine trials
Uppsats för yrkesexamina på avancerad nivå, Uppsala universitet/Molekylär biomimetikSammanfattning : The bacterium Chlamydia trachomatis is the leading cause of bacterial sexually transmitted infection worldwide. When left untreated, chlamydial infections can lead to severe complications, such as infertility. LÄS MER
4. Design, expression and purification of virus-like particles derived from metagenomic studies : Virus-like Particles (VLP) of novel Partitiviridae species, Hubei.PLV 11, and novel Soutern pygmy squid flavilike virus were designed, expressed using the bac-to-bac expression system and then pruified using various methods
Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för biologisk grundutbildningSammanfattning : Viruses are entities which are made of a few genes and are reliant on obligate parasitism to propagate. Due to the obligate connection to their hosts, virus evolution is constrained to the type of host. Viruses however do transmit to evolutionary distinct hosts; in these cases, the phylogenetic relationship of the hosts usually are close. LÄS MER
5. Biosensor based on immobilized amine transaminase for detection of amphetamine
Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för kemi, bioteknologi och hälsa (CBH)Sammanfattning : Amine transaminases (ATA) catalyse the transfer of an amino group from one molecule and replaces a ketone or aldehyde with the amino group, the amino group on the amino-donor is replaced with a ketone or aldehyde. This enzyme, ATA from Chromobacterium violaceum, has previously been used to catalyse the reaction involving amphetamine, therefore, it might be possible to use this enzyme to convert amphetamine and the product absorbs in the UV spectrum and can therefore be measured spectrophotometrically.
