  1. 1. Neural correlates of pragmatic processing in adolescents

    Magister-uppsats, Stockholms universitet/Institutionen för lingvistik

    Författare :Christoffer Forbes Schieche; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Adolescence; cognitive control functions; fMRI; pragmatics; theory of mind; fMRI; kognitiv kontroll; mentalisering; pragmatik; tonåringar;

    Sammanfattning : Understanding indirect speech, i.e., when an utterance does not match the intended meaning, is one of many pragmatic abilities at play in conversation. While the development of pragmatic abilities starts early, they continually develop throughout adolescence although this period is understudied. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Developing a portable, customizable, single-channel EEG device for homecare and validating it against a commercial EEG device

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Författare :Máté Károly Tóth; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Electroencephalography EEG ; Portable EEG; Single-channel EEG; Commercial EEG; Brain-machine interface; Prototype development; Elektroencefalografi EEG ; Bärbar EEG; Enkanaligt EEG; Kommersiellt EEG; Hjärna-maskin-gränssnitt; Prototyputveckling;

    Sammanfattning : There are several commercial electroencephalography (EEG) devices on the market; however, affordable devices are not versatile for diverse research applications. The purpose of this project was to investigate how to develop a low-cost, portable, single-channel EEG system for a research institute that could be used for neurofeedback-related applications in homecare. 3. 3. Noise Robustness of CNN and SNN for EEG Motor imagery classification

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Författare :Merlin Sewina; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Machine Learning; Spiking Neural Networks; Convolutional Neural Networks; EEG;

    Sammanfattning : As an able-bodied human, understanding what someone says during a phone call with a lot of background noise is usually a task that is quite easy for us as we are aware of what the information is we want to hear, e.g. the voice of the person we are talking to, and the information that is noise, e.g. LÄS MER

  4. 4. EVOKED PHASE COHERENCE AS A BIOMARKER FOR ADAPTIVE NEUROMODULATION IN RAT MODEL OF PARKINSON'S DISEASE

    Master-uppsats, Umeå universitet/Institutionen för psykologi

    Författare :Love Zackrisson; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Adaptive; Closed Loop; Neuromodulation; Parkinson’s Disease; Rat model; 6-OHDA; ITC; Phase Coherence; Bayesian Model; Classifier; Spinal Cord Stimulation; Deep Brain Stimulation.; Adaptiv; Closed Loop; Neuromodulation; Parkinson’s Sjukdom; Råttmodell; 6-OHDA; ITC; Faskoherens; Bayesiansk Modell; Klassificerare; Ryggradsstimulering; Djup Hjärnstimulering.;

    Sammanfattning : Neuromodulation, such as spinal cord stimulation (SCS) and deep brain stimulation (DBS), has been shown to modulate pathophysiological brain activity and provide symptomatic therapy for several neurological disorders, including Parkinson’s Disease. The effectiveness of this therapy could likely be further improved by neuromodulation that is adaptive, delivering stimulation more selectively, by monitoring a biomarker in recorded brain signals, which indicates the presence of a pathological state. 5. 5. Effects on the precision of a brain-computer interface when reducing the number of neural recordings used as input

    Kandidat-uppsats, KTH/Datavetenskap

    Författare :Oscar Knowles; Carl Peterson; [2022]
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : A brain-computer interface (BCI) is a technology where electric activity from the brain is interpreted by a computer in order to perform a specific task. There exists various methods to record brain activity depending on if the recording devices are implanted under or over the scalp. LÄS MER
