  1. 1. Tallsåddens potential för återbeskogning av marker med tjocka humustäcken eller torv i norra Sverige

    Master-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Forest Ecology and Management

    Författare :Torben Svensson; [2021]
    Nyckelord :Pinus sylvestris; skogsföryngring; skogssådd; sådd; tall; torvmark; torvtäckt mark; våt fastmark; återbeskogning; Peat covered soil; peatland; Pinus sylvestris; reforestation; Scots pine; sowing; wet mineral soil;

    Sammanfattning : Kostnaden för frösådd är oftast lägre än för plantering och lyckade sådder ger vanligen återväxt med högre stamantal. I praktiskt skogsbruk tillämpas skogssådd inte på alla marker där åtgärden kunde vara ett realistiskt alternativ. Särskilt stor är tvekan att så på marker med tjocka humustäcken. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Water quality and organic matter linkages in waters draining arable fields

    Master-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Soil and Environment

    Författare :Adam Eriksson; [2021]
    Nyckelord :Natural organic matter NOM ; particular organic matter POM ; dissolved organic matter DOM ; allochthonous; autochthonous; Florescence index FIX ; Freshness index BIX ; Humification index HIX ; SUVA 254; E2:E3; Spectral Slope; Observation fields; microbial matter; humic matter; unfiltered samples UF ; filtered samples F45 ;

    Sammanfattning : This study investigated leaching of natural organic matter (NOM) in twelve Swedish arable fields with regards to the quality of dissolved organic matter (DOM) and particulate organic matter (POM), using Absorbance (UV-Vis) and fluorescence spectrometry (EEM). DOM is defined as organic matter (OM) 0.45 μm. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Modelling the impacts of organic matter quality on soil carbon turnover and storage : continued testing of a novel dual-pore model against data collected from a long-term study site in Offer, Sweden

    Master-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Soil and Environment

    Författare :Mikael Sasha Dooha; [2021]
    Nyckelord :soil; soil organic matter; carbon; carbon sequestration; tillage; land-use; soil structure; porosity; modelling; humification;

    Sammanfattning : As we look for solutions to the worsening climate crisis, carbon sequestration has become a popular strategy to mitigate CO2 emissions. Carbon models are used to predict or emulate changes in future soil organic carbon (SOC) stocks, but most fail to account for the influence of pore size on soil structure and SOC storage. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Dissolved organic matter (DOM) quality in agricultural streams and its impact on carbon dioxide concentrations in stream water

    Uppsats för yrkesexamina på avancerad nivå, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för geovetenskaper

    Författare :Karin Broqvist; [2018]
    Nyckelord :DOM quality; dissolved organic matter; DOC; PARAFAC; fluorescence; streams; agriculture; fluorescence index; freshness index; humification index; carbon dioxide; DOM kvalitet; löst organiskt material; DOC; PARAFAC; fluorescens; bäckar; jordbruk; fluorescence index; freshness index; humification index; koldioxid;

    Sammanfattning : Inland waters have lately been recognized to be an important component in the carbon cycle, having a significant role in carbon sequestration and carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions. Attention has also been drawn to the impact of the quality (i.e. composition and source) of dissolved organic matter (DOM) on CO2 production. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Relationship between Shear-Wave Velocity and Consolidation Parameters of Peat

    Uppsats för yrkesexamina på avancerad nivå, Lunds universitet/Geoteknik; Lunds universitet/Institutionen för byggvetenskaper

    Författare :Oskar Markström; [2018]
    Nyckelord :shear wave velocity; peat; constant rate of strain; consolidation parameters; von Post; Technology and Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : There is a need of developing methods for evaluating material parameters for peat. It is hard and costly to obtain undisturbed samples for laboratory testing of the peat. Therefore, in this thesis the possibility of using in situ measurements of the shear wave velocity for first order estimates of the consolidation parameters has been investigated. LÄS MER
